MSI Tablet with Built-In Projector is Just a Prototype

Not too long ago, it looked like projectors were picking up speed and heading into the mainstream market. They were even being built into phones. But then that phase seemed to get passed over relatively quickly. One market that seems to have shied away from the projector, is the tablet market. To some, a projector and a tablet would make the perfect bed fellows. MSI apparently agrees with those folks, and have created a prototype device that, at least right now, runs Windows 7 and is powered by Intel.

MSI Wind Top AE220, AE2410 and AE2050 Intel and AMD touchscreen all-in-ones debut

MSI has unveiled three new Wind Top all-in-one desktop PCs at CES 2011 today, the Intel Sandy Bridge based Wind Top AE2210 and AE2410, and the AMD Brazos based Wind Top AE2050. All three feature 16:9 aspect multi-touch touchscreens - 22-inches on the AE2210, 24-inches on the AE2410, and 20-inches on the AE2050 - together with USB 3.0 ports for high-speed connectivity.

ASUS slashing netbook prices as tablets take market; MSI dropping out completely?

The market obsession with tablets has left netbook manufacturers facing significant price cuts and even abandoning the segment altogether, according to channel sources. DigiTimes claims that ASUS has slashed the retail cost of its latest Atom N450 and dual-core N550 netbooks after attempts to position them based on style and specifications fell short, while MSI is tipped to be "phased out of the market" altogether.

ASUS, MSI and ECS tablet plans tipped: Android, Windows 7 and Tegra 2 galore

ASUS may have been content to tease details of its Eee Pad EP121 tablet, but other sources aren't quite so restrained. According to DigiTimes, the ASUS EP121 is targeted at enterprise customers - hence the content creation focus and Windows 7 - while two $499 to $599 10-inch Eee Pads will take on the consumer side from March 2011. One will run Windows 7 on Intel Oak Trail chips, while the other will run Android on NVIDIa's Tegra 2. ASUS won't be the only ones with a tablet presence, either; ECS and MSI are also tipped to be bringing slates to the show.
