Furious 7 featurette: Cars drop from a C-130 aircraft

We've been waiting long enough. Furious 7 is almost here! Of course, we're going to show it to you here. In the earlier movies, the Fast and Furious crew drove the hottest supercars across America, Toyko, and Europe. Now they're driving souped up cars out of an airplane! In anticipation of the film's release April 3rd, 2015, they released a stunt featurette on YouTube. There isn't any cheesy CGI in this stunt. They actually drop two cars out of a C-130 military transport plane at 12,000 feet.

Frozen 2 announced by Disney

It's officially time to start preparing for Frozen 2. While Elsa hasn't confirmed her return to the role, Olaf and Anna have - Disney has confirmed that development is really, actually underway. This comes after denial from directors / writers Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck suggesting that there's no sequel - none so far - now Disney has confirmed the inevitable. This bit of information came in the same Disney shareholders call that gave us information about Star Wars VIII and Star Wars Rogue One, two more full-powered Star Wars movies on the way.

Star Wars VIII release date and director revealed

Today the Star Wars PR spirits have been kind - they've revealed the title of the next Star Wars stand-alone film AND details on Star Wars VIII. This next Star Wars film will be continuing the events that end at the finale of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Star Wars VIII does not yet have a title, but it does have a writer and a director - both will be Rian Johnson. This fellow also directed some of the most awesome action and sci-fi movies of the past several years, including Brick, The Brothers Bloom, and Looper.

Flynn Lives! Again! Or so we hope. Fans of the iconic sci-fi franchise who were left on the edge their seats for a sequal to 2010's hit TRON: Legacy will just have to wait for another year or so. But then again, they might be faced with an even bigger cliffhanger then. Industry buzz is claiming that the next TRON film will commence production this Fall and even have an exact October 5 date. And while the target premiere is still in 2016, don't bet on it giving you closure just yet.

Ghostbusters universe expands: New movie to star Channing Tatum

We told you about the all-female cast Ghostbusters movie coming out this summer. Now, Sony will be creating the new production company Ghost Corps to handle all of the films in the re-envisioned Ghostbusters universe. They will also look to continue the Ghostbusters legacy through television, merchandising, and toys. (Can I get excited about the toys for a minute?) Even without a series reboot, the toys have always done well 25 years after the last movie. First up for Ghost Corps is to create a second Ghostbusters movie that will begin production this June.

We all know what it is as soon as we see it. The logos of beverage companies, clothing brands, and technology manufacturers popping up in our favorite movies and TV shows. It's product placement. Sometimes it's subtler than others and we don't notice as much, but it's still there. BrandChannel takes it upon themselves to name the brands that appear the most in the previous year's biggest Hollywood films, calling it the Brandcameo Product Placement Awards. Netflix inks documentary deal with Leonardo DiCaprio

Netflix is continuing to add to its slew of original content. Netflix announced a new deal with Leonardo DiCaprio to exclusively air his future documentary projects. This is not Netflix first venture with DiCaprio. Leonardo DiCaprio was the executive producer on his previous collaborations with Netflix, Virunga. Leonardo DiCaprio executive produced the Netflix collaboration Virunga, which is a documentary about protecting a group of endangered gorillas in the midst of the bloody Congo civil war. Netflix and DiCaprio's future offerings will likely play along the same themes of environment and conservation.

Marvel decided to give us a new treat today, dropping another Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer into the mix. With this trailer we see some things we've seen before, but it is mostly new footage, and there's a lot of talking -- and that may not be a good thing if you don't like too much of a movie ahead of time. Lego Star Wars TV special to retell entire film saga

Just incase you haven't had enough collaboration between the Star Wars and Lego franchises yet, a new special from Disney will have re-watching the entire first two trilogies, albeit in plastic brick form. Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales is part of Disney's effort to promote and draw in new audiences for the December release of the new Star Wars film, The Force Awakens. Set to premiere on the Disney XD channel, the miniseries will be released as five episodes, each 22 minutes long.
