Alien, Transformers, Robocop, and even "Mutant" Ninja Turtles. A lot of sci-fi hits of the past are getting a fresh coating these days. Predator, yet another sci-fi cult classic, is now said to be in the works, and rumors say that it will be written by Shane Black, the same man who wrote Lethal Weapon and directed Iron Man 3.
Marvel's President Kevin Feige took to a Q&A session while in Barcelona recently, talking all things Marvel movies, including whether a sequel to the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy could come to fruition. Other topics of interest include Ant-Man and what's going on with Doctor Strange.
Lucasfilm, who owns Star Wars, and Marvel, who owns Guardians of the Galaxy, are now both owned by Disney, who owns Mickey Mouse. What if the creative heads that lead to the trailers for the upcoming film were to make a trailer for the decades-old classic? Well, what else would you get if not the first real guardians of the galaxy, complete with a catchy but almost inappropriate soundtrack.
JJ Abrams may have the helm of Star Wars for now, but he’s going to be replaced soon. Rian Johnson, who recently wrote and directed the sci-fi movie Looper, has been tapped to take over for the last two Star Wars movies in the nine episode series. Abrams pulled double duty for Episode VII, currently in production.
Ready for the reboot of yet another childhood classic at the hands of Michael Bay? Well, whether you are or not, TMNT is coming. And even if Bay isn't directly holding the reins, his influence is quite palpable as this shakycam version of a new TV trailer would suggest. Introducing Shredder, or perhaps Shredderbot or Shreddercon might be better names.

Early in 2013, it was confirmed that Marvel's Doctor Strange would be hitting the big screen at some point, and following along quite a bit later, a decision has been made for who will be directing: Scott Derrickson, perhaps best known for his work on 2005's The Exorcism of Emily Rose.
