LG Smart TV owners will soon be able to watch content from Google Play Movies and TV, it has been announced. The service will be available to users in more than 100 countries around the globe, working with LG’s webOS smart TV system, as well as the old NetCast 4.0 and 4.5 platforms. Google’s movies and television content include everything spanning from indie releases to new shows and long-standing classics. The support will be coming to LG Smart TVs later this month.

The same production company responsible for “The Mummy” has announced plans to make a movie based on The Witcher, a series of novels that have also been made into games. The Sean Daniel Company, the production firm, will work on the show with Platige Image, a Polish film company. Netflix is really pushing the original content aspect of its business, and in doing so it may branch out into areas of entertainment that aren’t commonly being pursued by production companies. In this case, the video service may begin producing its own anime and Bollywood-style movies, both of which would be targeted at foreign markets. This, should it ever come to fruition, would be part of a larger overall goal of producing “more unique programming” that traditional companies aren’t creating.
