Amazon lands digital video agreement with Twentieth Century Fox

Amazon has been making a lot of news this week over some leaked photos and a bit of information on its coming tablet. Apparently the tablet was based on the epic fail PlayBook from RIM. I hope the Amazon offering is better than RIM was able to offer. The deal that Amazon announced today is a video streaming agreement with Twentieth Century Fox that allows Amazon Prime members to get new video.

Netflix announces deal with DreamWorks for streaming content

I was bummed not long ago when Netflix announced that it would be ending the content deal that it has in place with Starz. At the time, it seemed that all of the movies my kids liked to watch were part of that Starz deal. Netflix has patched up that kids movie hole with a new deal that has been announced with DreamWorks. The deal will see DreamWorks' kids flicks coming directly to Netflix.

Netflix now supports all Android 2.2 and 2.3 devices

Netflix has just updated its mobile app to support all Android 2.2 Froyo and 2.3 Gingerbread devices. Until now, the app has only supported a very limited selection of Android devices with the last update to version 1.3 expanding support from 9 to 24 devices. The update today will finally bring Netflix app support to almost all Android devices.

Netflix Launching “Just for Kids” Interface

Everyone's favorite video streaming service Netflix has today announced their intention to launch "Just for Kids," a tab on their everyday user interface which brings up a child-centric selection screen and collection of movies and shows. From this screen you'll be able to find shows for kids 12 and under, selectable via similar means to what you're used to on the primary Netflix interface with a lovely row of characters the kids can select from if they know WHO they want to see but don't quite know how else to find them.
