Logitech Couch Mouse M515 sets sights on your sofa

Logitech has outed its latest wireless mouse, the Logitech Couch Mouse M515, and as the name suggests it's intended for the living room. Unlike many mice, which have a recessed nook where the laser lives, the M515 has a smooth, sealed base that Logitech says is to avoid picking up fluff and crumbs when you're sofa-surfing. Microsoft Touch Mouse Announced, Available in June [Video]

While it may look similar, the Touch Mouse isn't the same thing as the previously released Arc Touch Mouse from Microsoft. This time around, the Touch Mouse is meant to look more like a traditional mouse peripheral, but the distinction between a "normal" mouse and this one is pretty clear right off the top: there's a "matrix of capacitive touch-sensing electrodes" right on the top, allowing for several different multitouch gestures. Smartfish Whirl Mini Notebook Laser mouse has an interesting design

Smartfish has unveiled an interesting new notebook mouse that has a design different from any other notebook mouse on the market. Apple Ambidextrous Mouse idea could auto-recognize users

A new Apple patent application for an Ambidextrous Mouse has been submitted, describing a wireless, user-configurable mouse that could automatically recognize whether it was being held by a left- or right-handed user and adjust its virtual buttons and other controls accordingly. Perhaps more interestingly, however, Apple suggests that the peripheral could also be used to identify the current Mac user by the touch-pattern of their hand. The mouse Apple has in mind sounds a lot like the current Magic Mouse, with "a unibody housing having a buttonless touch sensitive surface" which would be "divided into an array of independent and spatially distinct sensing regions." The various button zones - which could be customized in terms of layout, number and purpose - are then set out according to that user's previous settings. Read The Full Story
