Today Motorola has shown of a set of new wood-backings for their Moto X, a customizable smartphone that, with Motorola's own "Moto Maker" console, is able to be custom-ordered to ship. These new wooden casings join the original Bamboo and pull the pricing down from a cool $100 to $25. That's the price users will add on to their original cost of the phone after adding the wood instead of one of the many other color options for the back panel of this device.

Google has quietly added the Moto G Google Play edition to its range of pure-Android devices, with the 8GB smartphone - already hugely popular in its standard form - beginning at $179 unsubsidized. Verizon Moto G prepaid launch details confirmed

Verizon has confirmed the launch of the $99.99 prepay Moto G, putting the mid-range Android smartphone on sale come January 9th. The smartphone - which features a 4.5-inch display and 5-megapixel camera - will show up in Verizon Wireless stores "in the coming weeks" the carrier says, though SlashGear has also been told that Best Buy in-store availability of the prepaid version is expected any day now at the same price.
