Motorola XOOM dated for European debut

The Motorola XOOM is expected to make its US debut sometime this month, priced at $799, but would-be European tableteers will have to wait a little longer. Carphone Warehouse confirmed it was the exclusive UK distributor for the XOOM 3G yesterday, though declined to say when the slate would arrive; however, the pre-interest page suggests the Honeycomb tablet is expected in April 2011. Motorola XOOM WiFi/EVDO/HSPA detailed; “ability to deliver 50MB/s” justifies $799 price

Details of Microsoft's various XOOM models have been released, with the initial Verizon version of the slate up against the WiFi-only MZ604 and HSPA MZ601/MZ603 versions. Meanwhile, Motorola Mobility CEO Sanjay Jha has defended the $799 pricing of the 32GB Verizon XOOM MZ600, confirmed earlier this week, saying that it's the potential for 4G that makes the Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet more valuable than Apple's iPad. Majority of CIOs surveyed are buying tablets for employees

Morgan Stanley's latest report on corporate technology development reveals a very interesting statistic that shows the impact tablets are having on corporate America.  According to the suvey of 50 enterprise CIOs, 21 percent are already involved in widespread tablet purchases for employees and another 51 percent are expected to begin doing so within the next twelve months. That's a whopping 67% marketshare for tablets in corporate America. Read The Full Story

Motorola Xoom Pricing Confirmed $799

After all the speculation and then the mysterious disappearance of a Best Buy ad, we finally have an official number for the Motorola Xoom price tag. This seemed way over-priced, double that of an entry-level iPad, and much more than the anticipated but already hefty $800 price point. However, today, it seems that Best Buy has pulled the ad.
