There's been a bit of a change in the hearts and minds of several big players today, an uncertain day full of fear and doubt to be sure. Verizon, AT&T “pleased” with Xoom and Atrix sales

We covered several analyst reports yesterday, saying that the Motorola Xoom and Atrix were sales failures. Not so, say Verizon and AT&T. Verizon issued a statement to Computerworld, stating "We are pleased with customer response to the Xoom." And AT&T issued a statement saying "Our customers are very satisfied with the Atrix, and we are equally as pleased with the results to date." Neither company has released sales figures. Motorola XOOM 3G follows WiFi model in pre-launch price cut

After the WiFi-only Motorola XOOM saw a pre-emptive price cut in the UK yesterday, with retailer Dixons scything off £20 ahead of the Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet's launch, rival Carphone Warehouse has no done the same with their 3G XOOM exclusive. Motorola XOOM and ATRIX 4G sales failures claims analyst

Motorola's XOOM tablet and ATRIX 4G smartphone sales have reportedly "been disappointing" according to one analyst's channel checks, with sell-through trends suggesting that the smartphone in particular has been impacted by cheap, $49 rivals. Pacific Crest's James Faucette, quotes Forbes, claims the popularity of the iPhone 3GS and HTC Inspire - each of which undercut the ATRIX significantly in AT&T's smartphone line-up - has meant sales were "well below forecast." Sales of the Motorola XOOM haven't even begun in the UK yet, and already the Android 3.0 tablet is seeing price cuts. Dixons has dropped the WiFi-only version of the slate down to £479.99, with shipments expected to begin sometime this week. Read The Full Story

iPad 2 top tablet says Consumer Reports

Consumer Reports has never been keen on the iPhone 4, criticizing both the original AT&T and newer Verizon versions for their antenna performance, but the independent buyers' guide has no such qualms about the iPad 2. Sprint HTC EVO 3D and EVO View 4G tablet get fully detailed

Hardware specs on two of HTC's other devices for CTIA 2011 have emerged, with the guts of the HTC EVO 3D and HTC EVO View 4G both apparently leaked. According to BGR, Sprint will be officially announcing the EVO 3D with a 4.3-inch qHD 960 x 540 autostereoscopic 3D display, a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 8660 processor, twin 5-megapixel cameras on the back for shooting 3D photos and video, and an HDMI port for outputting 1080p HD regular video and 720p HD 3D video.
