Samsung Galaxy S II USA Family Confirmed, Verizon May Be Next
It appears very likely, now that we’ve got a cool slightly pixelated photo and everything, that Samsung will be releasing the Samsung Galaxy S II in the USA next week on three of the big four USA carriers with slightly different configurations, software and hardware included. What we’re still not clear on is why news has popped up surrounding Verizon not being on this list. Given another bit of very possibly legit information we got this morning, a Samsung Galaxy S II upgrade is on the way as well, this time with a slightly larger 4.5-inch display and 4G LTE capabilities. What could this possibly mean for Verizon?
Samsung Galaxy S II Verizon Model Possibly Axed
It appears that the largest network in the United States will not be carrying the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone, a flagship device for the manufacturer and one of the best selling phones in the world at the moment. As the Wall Street Journal reports, having spoken with "people familiar with the plans," each of the other "big four" carriers will be carrying the device inside September, blue, yellow, and pink being the lot of them, but apparently Verizon has declined to move forward with the Samsung dual-core device. Samsung's Kim Titus has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S II would indeed be unveiled in the USA next week, but declined to comment any further on the group's plans for carriers.

Motorola DROID 3 Review
The Motorola Droid 3 is the latest successor in a line of powerful handsets that have helped define Android smartphones. Like its predecessors, the Droid 3 takes on an angular physique but with thinner profile and a larger footprint. It launched on Verizon in recent weeks and although it does not support 4G LTE, it does have the advantage of being a world phone with SIM card included.

Verizon enabling Flash Player 10.1 for Motorola DROID
Good news for owners of the original Motorola DROID desperate to see their web pages clogged up with Flash adverts, videos, games and animations. Verizon has just confirmed to us that they're pushing out an update for the DROID that will allow owners to download Adobe's Flash Player 10.1 from the Android Market.

Motorola's MOTOBLUR devices are still generally waiting for an Android upgrade, but in the meantime the original Motorola DROID has seen a second significant version update. Multiple tips have dropped suggesting that Motorola is pushing out an OTA update to Android 2.2 Froyo, bringing with it speed and stability increases.

Verizon DROID, DEVOUR and Tour 9630 all axed?
A Verizon leak has tipped various smartphones as reaching end-of-life status, including the Motorola DROID and its less-endearing sibling the Motorola DEVOUR. Droid Forums received a screenshot from an internal Verizon message, tipping the two Android handsets as expected to see "limited or no remaining shipments from the vendor", together with the Nokia 7705 Twist and the BlackBerry Tour 9630.

Motorola confirm locked DROID 2 and DROID X bootloaders
Hacking the Motorola DROID X and DROID 2 may be a significantly tougher prospect, thanks to the confirmation that the company will be locking the bootloaders of their future Android handsets. The bootloader - which is used to install custom ROMs that add new, unofficial functionality or streamline the Android user-experience - will be secured so as to prevent non-Motorola ROMs being loaded, the company says, explaining that the open bootloader on the DROID was the exception rather than the rule.
