Watch out Google: Samsung’s Galaxy brand has eclipsed Android

It would appear that the Samsung brand push of the name "Galaxy" associated with their Android-toting smartphones and tablets is working so extremely well that this week the hardware name has become more popular than the software. Having a peek at the findings analyst Benedict Evans has found with a few search term trends in Google's own search engine, it's made clear that as the Android search term has risen, so has the term Galaxy. In November of 2012 it's shown that Galaxy was searched more than Android for the first time either term was relevant in search terms across Google's history.

It appears very likely, now that we've got a cool slightly pixelated photo and everything, that Samsung will be releasing the Samsung Galaxy S II in the USA next week on three of the big four USA carriers with slightly different configurations, software and hardware included. What we're still not clear on is why news has popped up surrounding Verizon not being on this list. Samsung Galaxy S II Verizon Model Possibly Axed

It appears that the largest network in the United States will not be carrying the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone, a flagship device for the manufacturer and one of the best selling phones in the world at the moment. As the Wall Street Journal reports, having spoken with "people familiar with the plans," each of the other "big four" carriers will be carrying the device inside September, blue, yellow, and pink being the lot of them, but apparently Verizon has declined to move forward with the Samsung dual-core device. Samsung's Kim Titus has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S II would indeed be unveiled in the USA next week, but declined to comment any further on the group's plans for carriers.

Motorola Droid Upgrading to Android 2.2 Next Week

We'll just go ahead and say it: Android 2.2 is just about to be on everything.
