TomTom Rider reboot gives motorcycle GPS a breath of fresh air

This week the folks at TomTom have made it clear that the TomTom Rider will not be fading into obscurity, re-releasing a new iteration of the device with the same name here in 2013 with a brand new set of specifications and features. This device is made to sit on and with your motorcycle and allow you to get guided in real time, find local hotspots, and share routes with fellow bikers wirelessly via Bluetooth. Apple had to go through Harley-Davidson for Lightning trademark

In today's installment of "words you didn't know could be trademarked," we'll focus in on Apple and its relationship with a motorcycle manufacturer by the name of Harley-Davidson. Apple's "Lightning" branding for its new dock connector certainly plays nice with the company's "Thunderbolt" branding, but in new EU Trademark filings discovered by Patently Apple, we're finding out that the iPod maker had to talk to Harley-Davidson before it could use the word lightning for its products. Brammo details Empulse electric motorbike

Remember the Brammo Empulse R electric bike that we peeked a few weeks ago? The regular version that drops the R has officially been debuted in Hollywood today, with all the nitty gritty details being laid out as well as the price. Brammo say that the bike is capable of reaching speeds up to 100mph, and can travel up to 121 miles on a single charge. it features a 9.3kWh lithium ion battery, and a liquid cooled motor. Hoverbike Brings Return of the Jedi to Life

This is the first generation prototype that has some definite similarities to the science fiction floating cycles seen in the Lucas film.
