Verizon Moto G prepaid launch details confirmed

Verizon has confirmed the launch of the $99.99 prepay Moto G, putting the mid-range Android smartphone on sale come January 9th. The smartphone - which features a 4.5-inch display and 5-megapixel camera - will show up in Verizon Wireless stores "in the coming weeks" the carrier says, though SlashGear has also been told that Best Buy in-store availability of the prepaid version is expected any day now at the same price.

The Motorola Moto G was originally slated for release inside January of 2014 for the United States, but upon hearing of the smartphone's availability here in December of 2013, potential users were eager to put their hands on a unit. One of the finer points in Motorola breaking their camera software free from the basic Android build is their ability to update it swiftly, as they've done this week with the Moto G. What we're seeing is an update to the app through the Google Play app store which brings on manual control of focus and exposure as well as locked exposure during Panorama capture. This update also tweaks the quality of the photos shot ever-so-slightly so that the user gets to a place a lot closer to the many devices that cost prices far more hefty.
