If the full HD releases didn’t get your attention, Samsung has snuck in another 16:9 SyncMaster with higher resolution panel. The 23-inch SyncMaster 2343BW compliments the SW series; sharing similar panel specifications with contrast, brightness and panel response rate of 1,000:1, 300 cd/m2 and 5 ms, respectively. The BW model boasts a higher and wider resolution LCD panel (2048×1152) and is capable of dynamic deep contrast at 20,000:1 rating.

We’ve seen more and more LCD panel releases with 16:9 aspect ratio, just as Digitimes reported. “The LCD panel industry’s transition toward the 16:9 aspect is unstoppable”. The changeover has less to do with excessive horizontal black bars while viewing anamorphic films, it is all about maximizing production efficiency. Fair enough, Samsung has jointed the club as well; rolled up a family of 5 SyncMaster ranges from 16-inch to 23-inch, all with 16:9 LCD panel with the exception of the bottom two models.

Samsung have taken the wraps off of the company’s first QWXGA resolution 23-inch LCD monitor, capable of displaying two full A4 pages side-by-side together with space for the Windows Vista Sidebar.  The 2342BWX runs at 2048 x 1152 resolution with a 16:9 aspect ratio that’s conveniently ideal for watching feature films.

Eizo Japan today introduced the FlexScan S2432W-H 24.1-inch LCD monitor for graphic and the like of professional image and video application. The display sports a WUXGA, a natively 1920×1200 resolution Vertical Alignment LCD panel, most likely a S-PVA type for wider viewing angles of 178 degree; as well as first of its class newer DisplayPort terminal.

NEC has announced the successor to their MultiSync LCD2690WUXI monitor, the LCD2690WUXi2, with a much wider color gamut H-IPS LCD panel. The new 25.5-inch pro-level LCD screen now can cover up to 97.5-percent of the Adobe RGB color range, as opposed to the 93.8-percent the previous model could manage. The extension in color gamut will put the LCD2690WUXi2 toe to toe with NEC’s flagship 30-inch MultiSync LCD3090WUXi in term of Adobe RGB coverage.

NEC have announced a professional-quality LCD monitor, the 22-inch MultiSync P221W.  Intended for use in color-critical environments, the P221W has a 1680 x 1050 native resolution, 96-percent AdobeRGB color gamut, AmbiBright automatic brightness adjustment and 1,000:1 contrast ratio.  It also works with NEC’s new SpectraView color calibration kit.

This one gives validity to that whole idea about technology that the smaller the gadget, the more expensive it is. This 4.3-inch USB Monitor sure is small and is powered solely by a USB connection. That considerably ramps up the coolness factor. However, the price tag might make you gasp.
