Twike – Pedal powered car with an odd name

, Dec 17th 2007 Discuss [0]

Pedal powered cars seemed to be making a lot of news lately. While it seems that making your own and driving it around isn’t quite legal it’s apparently ok to buy one. Read The Full Story

MSKYO Retro Speaker Cart

, Dec 17th 2007 Discuss [0]

Who can forget the 80’s? Why did we ever leave that culture and those styles? It was perfect, well, accept for the hair and clothes but the music was amazing. Ghetto Blasters and break dancing were classic. Read The Full Story

Audiovox D1817PKG – Portable DVD Player with Games

, Dec 17th 2007 Discuss [1]

I feel really old when I say this but, I wish I’d had a portable DVD player when I was a kid. It would have made those long car rides so much more enjoyable, especially since I had two siblings to help cramp up the space. A game system for the car would have nice too. Read The Full Story

Nintendo Wii – Even cockroaches want one

, Dec 17th 2007 Discuss [1]

We all know that the Wii is sold out no sooner than it’s in stock. Everybody wants one and apparently humans aren’t the only beings that applies too. According to theory the cockroaches are attracted to the frequency/vibrations given off by the Wii. It seems a bit unlikely to me as they have no ear drums and they don’t appear to be attracted to any other console vibrations. I wonder just how many people are having this cockroach/Wii problem. It’ll be interesting to find out if it is really true, though. I certainly hope it isn’t as I’m one of those people who are hoping to receive one in the near future. Scientific Socks have the periodic table on them

, Dec 14th 2007 Discuss [2]

I’m a sucker for socks. I have them in all shapes, sizes and colors and one for every occasion. Once, I even bought a new outfit just because it matched my favorite pair of socks, that’s the crazy girl gene coming out of me. The nerd gene, which makes it’s appearance often, has teamed up with it’s rival and I’m buying a pair of these socks. Read The Full Story

Glow-in-the-dark Kittens – Cats are new light source!

, Dec 14th 2007 Discuss [2]

You know, I just don’t know what to say about this. I know I'm not the only one thinking "Glow-in-the-dark kittens. Really? No, seriously, really?" I just wonder, what could possibly be the good of this outcome. South Korean scientists say that by playing for fluorescent protein genes in cloned cats it could be useful in helping unravel mysteries of around 250 different genetic diseases. Oh, and cloning kittens could also be useful in helping to clone larger cats like the tiger or leopards that are near extinction. Read The Full Story

The Ride – It’s retro and new all at once

Even though I’ve not been on a bike in years I’d still like have one again. However, my “adult and sophisticated” self wouldn’t settle for just any old ordinary bike. No, I want my bike to special and maybe have some sort link to the 1400’s. Read The Full Story

3-way SLI with nVidia cards now possible

W00t is the word of the year!

, Dec 13th 2007 Discuss [3]

I’m very familiar and friendly with words. I’ve been a librarian for 8 years and I’ve seen how we abuse the language. It’s a shame to think that 50-60 years ago people had a vocabulary of a much higher quality than us but so is the times. As a bonus for us, we have more words than they could have ever dreamed about, words like: Shizzle, Truthiness, and w00t. Yes, w00t. Merriam-Webster dictionary has made it official. Is this the first word to consist of both letters and numbers? I can’t think of another. Gamers of the world, put your hands together and give it up for yourselves! This is the first step in bring our l33t skillz to the top. Today Merriam-Webster, tomorrow the world! Read The Full Story

Creative Industries Desk – An office on the go

, Dec 13th 2007 Discuss [0]

I don’t know how many people I see toting around milk cartons on wheels each day but it’s somewhere around ‘many’. I have on occasion had the need for such a device but my motto is and remains “if it doesn’t fit in my bag, it stays behind”. I don’t really want to be seen a milk cartoon contraption ever. Icepik – Another senselessly diamond-ized product

, Dec 13th 2007 Discuss [0]

I’ve seen and heard about some pretty useless things in my life. The extremes people will go to to stand out or to ‘one-up’ someone else is just ridiculous. On top of that people are putting diamonds on way to many things anymore. Read The Full Story

Mobile Notetaker – Handy Dandy Notebook Not Yet Extinct
