Korean firm mintpass are planning to bring their super-compact mintpad touchscreen device to the US.  The 90g palm-sized mintpad has a 2.86-inch display, handwriting recognition, WiFi b/g and a 1.3-megapixel camera, and according to the company is currently being Anglicized for foreign markets.  The mintpad went on sale in Korea back in November 2008, priced at just 199,000 KRW ($143). mintpad video demo after the cut Read The Full Story

Color us jealous.  Seeing as our last call for a Korean gadget to cross over to the West worked so well, can we now please have the Mintpad?  Mintpass have been showing off the 2.86-inch touchscreen PMP/internet tablet, currently on sale in Korea for 199,000 KRW ($132), complete with WiFi b/g, camera and IM functionality. Mintpass mintpad 2.8-inch touchscreen WiFi web tablet

It might look like a basic PMP, but actually this is something far cooler: the Mintpass mintpad MP100 is a 3.2oz, palm-sized web tablet, with a 2.86-inch QVGA touchscreen, WiFi b/g, integrated 1.3-megapixel webcam and 4GB of internal storage.  All that in something measuring 3.08 x 2.51 x 0.60 inches.  Best of all, this is no crazy prototype: it's actually available in Korea.
