It's Friday once again folks, with most of you already enjoying the weekend. Today, the iPhone 5 launched in 22 additional regions around the world, setting Apple's plan to have it in over 100 countries by the end of the year on track. Apple CEO Tim Cook apologized for the sad state of Apple Maps today (recommending some other Maps apps in the process), and we took a closer look at his words in a new column. Minecraft creator refusing to support Windows 8

If you're an avid Minecraft fan and just can't get enough of the sandbox-style game, we hope you're not planning to upgrade to Windows 8. The creator and developer of Minecraft, Markus "Notch" Persson, has stated that he won't be bringing Minecraft to the Windows 8 platform because of Microsoft locking down the new OS. Cube World gets awesome multiplayer trailer

There are a lot of Minecraft clones running around out there, and at first glance, you might be tempted to label Cube World as one of them. The colorful voxel environments are surely reminiscent of Minecraft, but judging from the game's new multiplayer trailer below, that's where the similarities end. Instead of a focus on building, Cube World puts the focus on exploration, combat, and collecting loot, and if that doesn't get you excited, then frankly we don't know what will. Read The Full Story

Minecraft PC version passes 7 million sales

Minecraft's popularity just keeps on growing and growing, as Mojang announced today that the PC version of the beloved indie game has passed 7 million sales. Mojang's Daniel Kaplan announced the milestone today through Twitter, saying "More than 7 million minecraft (pc) copies sold!" Minecraft update 1.3.1 has gone live, and we're going to level with you: it sounds pretty awesome. This is easily one of the biggest Minecraft updates we've had since the game officially launched back in November, adding a variety of new things and fixing a number of bugs. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition hits 3 million units sold

We already knew that Minecraft was immensely popular on PC, but it turns out that Minecraft's popularity is not restricted to just one platform: the Xbox 360 version of the game - which has only been available since May 9 - has topped 3 million sales. Mojang founder Markus "Notch" Persson announced the sales milestone via Twitter today, saying "I got told Minecraft for XBLA passed three million sales today!" At this rate, it won't be long before the XBLA version catches up with the PC version, which has sold nearly 6.7 million copies according to Minecraft.net. Read The Full Story

Mojang’s Scrolls game gets real with first trailer

It appears that Mojang's turn-based battle game Scrolls is really, truly about to get off the ground as they've launched their first trailer to the web, complete with gameplay. What you'll see here is a game not unlike a smashing together of Final Fantasy Tactics, Chess, and Pokemon, with a game-board being the center of everything for the next-generation strategy app. You'll find that this game is on the cuff of starting its first closed alpha, with a beta release coming later this year. Minecraft creator reveals 0x10c as next project

If the name “Notch” doesn’t sound familiar to you, it should. He’s the creator of the wildly popular Minecraft, created at the gaming studio Mojang. Minecraft has taken the world by storm, selling over five million units to date. Notch isn’t involved with Minecraft anymore, but has revealed details on his next game, called 0x10c.
