The iPad is coming to Verizon Wireless, but not in the way you might first expect.  The carrier has announced that, as of Thursday, October 28, it will be offering three iPad WiFi bundles that package the non-3G version of the iOS slate with a contract-free Verizon MiFi 2200 mobile 3G hostpot. Verizon Wireless Fivespot global mobile hotspot gets official

Verizon's "global ready mobile hotspot" was caught in the wild all the way back in July, but it's getting its official unveil today.  Working both on the carrier's own CDMA EVDO Rev.A network in the US and 850/1900/2100 UMTS/HSPA networks globally, the Verizon Wireless Fivespot can share its 3G connection with up to five WiFi devices. Verizon roadmap tips Motorola DROID Pro, Samsung & Moto tablets and LTE MiFi

Details of Verizon's roadmap covering not only the rest of 2010 but partial details of 2011 and even 2012 have leaked, tipping a 1.3GHz Motorola Android phone, various tablets and LTE handsets and MiFi mobile hotspots.  However, the information - provided to BGR by a source at Verizon Wireless - makes no mention of a CDMA iPhone 4.  Instead, the de-facto flagship is the Motorola DROID Pro, a 4-inch Android smartphone with 1.3GHz processor and global wireless, apparently due to arrive in November this year. Virgin Mobile MiFi 2200 Review

Two years ago, mobile broadband was levied out on a per-device basis: one connection per gadget. Novatel Wireless changed that with their MiFi, a portable 3G router that shared a single wireless connection with up to five WiFi devices. Clearwire's new CLEAR 4G and 3G/4G mobile hotspots have gone up for sale, having made their preorder debut last month.  The CLEAR Spot 4G and Spot 4G+ both share their WiMAX connection with various WiFi clients - up to eight with the Spot 4G, and up to five with the Spot 4G+ - and are in CLEAR stores today. As expected, Virgin Mobile USA has launched the Novatel MiFi 2200 as its latest mobile broadband offering, pairing the mobile WiFi hotspot with various pre-pay data packages.  Priced at $149.99 for the MiFi itself - which is capable of sharing an EVDO Rev.A 3G connection with up to five WiFi-connected clients - service plans range from $10 for 100MB through to $60 for 5GB of data.
