I would wager that today the vast majority of the gamers out there that want an Xbox 360 have one with the length of time the console has now been on the market. There are still those gamers out there rocking the old fat Xbox 360 or sitting on one that has died for one reason or another that might want to upgrade. If you are in the market for a new Xbox 360 a special and very cool looking Gears of War limited edition console will be coming on September 20 for $399.

Head tracking has been around for a long time. Honestly, it never really made much sense in some games. I can see the benefit of head tracking if you are playing a flight simulator for instance. I have even tried changing views in flight games before and honestly, it didn’t work that well for me. I can see head tracking to allow the racer in a driving game like Forza to get more realism in the game being appealing though.

PSN outage bites as angry gamers defect to Xbox

Gamers are not generally a patient lot, and they are unforgiving when it comes to errors and issues with a game. When an outage like the PSN being down for so long in the wake of the attacks on Sony servers drags on and no online games can be played patients is as thin as the emperor's new clothes. Sony has apologized for the outage and has noted that it will launch PSN service again as soon as possible, but gamers are apparently fed up with the wait.

Xbox 360 Top Selling Console 10 out of the last 11 months

Xbox 360 was the number one selling video game console in April, according to NPD Group, and it also ranks as the top selling console for 10 out of the last 11 months. The Xbox 360 has had half of the top ranking games for April of this year, and consumers have spent $310 million on Xbox 360 hardware, software and accessories in April alone. Pretty impressive. Game group The Behemoth is constructing custom arcade cabinets running their own developed games and will present them at Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) East 2011 in Boston. The group will be bringing five arcade cabinets with them to the event, four of them will be running the groups newest build of BattleBlock Theatre and the fifth one will run the original four player Castle Crashers.

It's no secret that Sony's much heralded wireless controller, the Playstation Move, was destroyed in sales by the Microsoft Kinect, a sensor device which reads body language, rather than use controller inputs.  But Sony hopes to get it's mojo back by following Kinect into the PC world.  Only they may do it by going open source.
