As one of the relatively few companies across the earth to receive Kinect for Windows & SDK before the official announcement, you know good and well that Microsoft has some faith in the group known as ETRONIKA. And what they've produced here is something that was bound to happen one way or another: Kinect-based online banking. Their solution includes analyzing user's face, voice, and gestures to help them through the process of banking online. Kinect HD set-top box tipped for Xbox LIVE TV plans
Microsoft’s Xbox TV plans continue to trickle out, with talk of a Kinect-based set-top box for 2012 that would offer streaming multimedia content with a voice and motion controlled UI and sub-$200 price tag. Variously codenamed “Live Xbox”, “Kinect Box” and “Kinect HD”, the new STB will resemble a low-profile version of the existing Kinect, The Daily‘s sources suggest, with a larger base to accommodate power, HDMI and USB ports. Availability has been “pushed back” it’s said, from an original early-2012 window, though it should arrive prior to the next-gen “Xbox 720.”
XBOX 360 at 66 Million Worldwide, Kinect Nearly Doubling at 18 Million
The post-holiday sale numbers are looking good for Microsoft's XBOX 360 and Kinect. By the end of Q1 Microsoft reported 57.6 million units were shipped. That number has increased by almost 10 million, with some thanks going to the recent holiday season. In a 2011 roundup video released by Microsoft, the XBOX 360 has sold 66 million units.

Bodymetrics PrimeSense 3D Uses Kinect for Body-mapping

More than 20 countries are involved in the rolling out of this expansion, partners ranging from HBO to Verizon to the BBC to Televisa, everyone’s in on it! There’s a unified dashboard for Xbox LIVE, Comcast Xfinity integration, 26 new channels of live TV in the USA, further Bing search integration with voice-powered search, “more entertainment options” including Zone marketplace expansion with Xbox LIVE and Kinect, a handful of new apps, sharing, and music discovery. Is it time everyone jumped aboard this Xbox 360 as entertainment station train? Quite possibly yes!
Zumba Fitness dance exercise video game Hands-on [Video]
Ever since we first heard of systems like the Wii and the Xbox 360 Kinect, we though gosh, that’d be awesome to utilize for exercise games. Imagine that, this is exactly what happened. But here’s the thing: development is slow if you compare the exercise game ecosystem with games of basically every other type. There’s been some games for the Wii Balance Board, the Wii Fit has seen some action, but what about Xbox 360′s Kinect? How about the PlayStation Move? Is it just that gamers simply do not want to use their gaming systems to do work? Zumba Fitness isn’t the first game in history to make dancing and therefore exercise an enjoyable activity, but it’s certainly the most interesting to your humble narrator’s eyes in the past few weeks, that’s for sure.
Kinect sales miss Japanese targets
A Microsoft exec has admitted that Kinect sales have proved disappointing in Japan, with the Xbox 360 still failing to grab market share as expected. Xbox Japan chief Takashi Sensui confirmed that sales of the motion-tracking peripheral "haven't met our initial expectations in Japan," MarketWatch reports, with the gadget "still not widely recognized." The confession follows an admission earlier this week that Windows Phone sales were also unsatisfactory.

Game peripherals maker Nyko launched a new device today called the Zoom that's meant to be an add-on to Microsoft's Kinect. Anyone who's played a Kinect game, knows that it requires a large space, which not everyone has.
