MiFi 2352 HSPA Intelligent Mobile Hotspot video unboxing

, Jun 15th 2009 Discuss [0]

Novatel Wireless’ MiFi 2352 is the third of the company’s “Intelligent Mobile Hotspots” that we’ve unboxed here on SlashGear, but unlike Verizon’s and Sprint’s the 2352 is a GSM/UMTS device rather than EVDO Rev.A.  Launching today on Telefonica Espana [pdf link], the MiFi 2352 features 7.2Mbps HSDPA and 5.76Mbps HSUPA, sharing that connection out for up to five WiFi b/g clients.  We caught up with Novatel in London today, to find out what else makes the MiFi 2352 special; you can also see the first video unboxing of the portable 3G router after the cut.

Tiny gadgets have an unmistakable allure, so a 5.5 x 2 x 2 cm camcorder is always going to catch our eye.  The Muvi Micro Camcorder is apparently the smallest in the world, but marketing hyperbole aside it does offer a compact way to capture VGA 640 x 480 25fps video to microSD card. The last Brando product to grace these pages - their LCD Bluetooth Vibrating Bracelet - fell more than a little short of impressing us.  Today it's back to basics with a USB cable, but it's actually a cable with a neat in-line difference: Brando have taken a standard USB to miniUSB cable and added an SD card reader. 2TB SD cards in the works?

, Jan 12th 2009 Discuss [3]

SanDisk just released their 16GB microSD card for double the previous storage space of the 8GB versions. We all suspected a 32GB microSD card was in the works, but it would be a while before that came to market. Who would have suspected a 2 terabyte card? The SD association just wrote about a new SDXC (eXtended Capacity) memory card that still has yet to have a release date. The SDXC specification that will allow manufacturers to develop up to 2TB memory cards in the future. This would provide users with a better “digital lifestyle” with capacity ranging from 32GB up to 2TB. These cards will have read/write speeds of up to 104MB per second in 2009 with a road map to 300 MB per second. Read The Full Story
