The first image of the Olympus E-5 has leaked, though you'd need a Victorian sensibility to truly appreciate it as so far all we can see is a shoulder.  According to 43rumors, their trusted sources have confirmed that the shot is indeed a crop of the upcoming E-5, and they've also provided some hardware specs too: a 12.1-megapixel sensor, ISO 100 to 6400 and a weatherproof magnesium body. Samsung NX100 leaks ahead of Photokina reveal

Having been spotted in leaky press shot form yesterday, Samsung's upcoming NX100 digital camera has now emerged in some in-the-wild pictures.  Engadget's tipster sent them some feedback on the Micro Four Thirds shooter, suggesting that video performance is strong and tweaking settings is as straightforward as on a DSLR. Samsung NX100 Official Press Shots Revealed

Samsung's newest edition to their micro-four-thirds line-up, the NX100, is still unannounced (but previously teased, but that's not stopping some folks from revealing the official press shots of the device ahead of any kind of announcement. No surprise here, though, right? It's almost impossible to keep a secret ahead of an official announcement, after all. Olympus PEN E-P2 black-on-black kit debuts alongside new zoom lenses

The tipped Olympus PEN E-P2 black-on-black kit has made its official debut, a black-clad P2 Micro Four Thirds camera complete with matching M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 17mm pancake lens and FL-14 flash, priced at $999.99 when it drops in October 2010.  Meanwhile a second version - which switches the black FL-14 flash for a black VF-2 electronic viewfinder - will also be launched, at €1,079.  There are also two new lenses to choose between. Olympus' new Micro Four Thirds plans have been outed, and you won't have to wait long for the fruits of their development to arrive.  According to 43rumors, on Tuesday August 31st the company will announce a new E-P2 kit complete with a black 17mm lens and matching external flash, together with two new lenses, while on September 14th there'll be a new 12-megapixel Olympus E-5 to drool over. Samsung tease Photokina NX camera reveal: NX100 ahoy?

It's not just the Galaxy Tab that Samsung are teasing us about for next week; the company's photography division has been sending out invites to a Photokina 2010 event where they'll be demonstrating their next-generation NX digital camera.  According to the invite, "the NX evolution" will be "Samsung's latest and most hotly anticipated camera"; they don't spare the hyperbole, either, claiming the new model will "change the lives of creative consumers around the world, and take the camera industry by storm." Samsung NX100 micro-four-thirds camera spotted?

Cameras believed to be Samsung's next-gen Micro Four Thirds models have been previewed in a promotional video (which has since been made private), with the new snappers - seen on the right in this image - tipped as the Samsung NX100.  Photo Rumors spotted the mysterious cluster, shown along with a couple of new lenses, at the end of a Samsung video clip. Olympus PEN E-PL1 gets augmented reality demo [Video]

You might remember the augmented reality business cards we wrote about all the way back in July 2009; well, Olympus has taken the same idea and turned it into a pretty neat interactive demo for their PEN E-PL1 micro-four-thirds camera.  Using a paper cut-out of the E-PL1 and your computer's webcam, the demo can show a life-sized 3D representation of the camera with clickable features, working still and video capture, and instant upload of content you create to Facebook and YouTube. Canon mini-DSLR tipped to take on Micro 4/3rds

Canon's head of Image Communication Products, Masaya Maeda, has revealed that Nikon isn't the only company looking at a new high-end compact camera.  Speaking as Canon increased their sales forecasts, Maeda confirmed that the company is looking at a new compact camera that could be a mini-DSLR; "It's not a question of whether or not you have a mirror," he told reporters, "there is a consumer need for good-quality cameras to be made smaller."
