Sandisk Updates Ultra II media with 32GB SDHC and 8GB SDHC Plus

, Jan 31st 2008 Discuss [0]

I have a few of the Sandisk Ultra II 2GB SD version. I prefer them over the Extreme III Compact flash because the in-camera write speed is a tap faster. Although it's slightly slower in between PC transfer but that’s not what i got it for. Now sounds about the right time for an upgrade. Sandisk has announced two new up-sized versions of the Ultra II SDHC and Ultra II SDHC plus to 32GB and 8GB with 50 percents faster than last version. Read The Full Story

Skype on the PSP is now live

Go get the update now! Firmware 3.90 offers up Skype, well, that’s the major addition from the update, I have no clue what else it does, but after you have Skype on your PSP you probably won’t care either. The downsides are as follows, first, you have to have a PSP-2000, aka the PSP Slim. The second is that the little remote that came with that model PSP, yeah, you had better still have it, as its apparently necessary (probably where the microphone is). Read The Full Story

, Jan 23rd 2008 Discuss [0]

Olympus updated their co-invention with Fujifilm, the xD-Picture Card, with a faster M+ series in preparing for PMA 2008. The new Type M + xD-Picture Card offered 1.5 times fastest than previous version of Type M series when used with Olympus digital cameras. That’s about 3.75-6 mb/s in write and read speed. The Multi Level Cell architecture in M type xD media format is capable to produce up to 8GB of storage space but the new series is still stuck in a rather disappointing capacities of 1GB and 2GB model. Olympus has not disclosed pricing but both will be available in April. [via dpreview]

Digital Hero 3 wrist cam can capture just about anything

This camera straps on your wrist, and can take a hell of a beating from there. It will work for up to 30 meters under water and is also shock proof. It can take up to 3MP stills and can do 54 minutes of video (I’d guess in VGA resolution, maybe a little better). Read The Full Story

New Kingston Flash Drives

Kingston was showing off 4 new flash drives, the one I was most impressed with is the HyperX one. I mean, their HyperX PC memory is impressive so I can only expect similar speeds from this flash drive, and it delivers with a write speed of 20MB/second and read speed that’s 10MB/second faster, this thing is built for ReadyBoost. You can get these drives for 74, 131, and 266 dollars in capacities of 2, 4, and 8 gigabytes respectively. Read The Full Story
