Sony GIGA Juke NAS-SC500PK and NAS-E300HD media streamers announced

Sony have announced two new products in its GIGA Juke range of streaming home audio equipment, which also add docks for the company's Walkman range such as the OLED-touchscreen Walkman-X we reviewed.  The NAS-SC500PK (shown here) gets increased amplification - up to 100W - and a chunkier 160GB hard-drive, while the NAS-E300HD (shown after the cut) sticks with 60W and half the storage.

QNAP SS-439 Pro Turbo NAS offers RAID, server, more

QNAP have announced their latest network-attached storage device, the four-bay SS-439 Pro Turbo NAS.  Capable of establishing various levels of RAID array for up to 2TB of total capacity, the SS-439 is based on Intel's Atom N270 processor and offers media server, backup, print and web server functionality.  Connectivity includes three USB 2.0 ports and two eSATA ports, which can be used to add more storage plus make removable backups, together with two gigabit ethernet connections.

Acer easyStore AH340-UA230N Home Server: 1TB+ for $400

Acer have announced their first consumer NAS running Windows Home Server, the Aspire easyStore AH340-UA230N.  It may not have a snappy name, but it does have 1TB of standard storage plus three hot-swappable 3.5-inch hard-drive bays for a total of 7TB capacity.  There are also five USB 2.0 ports and an eSATA connection.

HP MediaSmart Servers updated; stream media to iPod/iPhone and PSP

The HP MediaSmart servers (EX485/EX487 models) received a software update today from HP. The news software allows media to be streamed to wireless devices such as iPhone, iPod Touch and PlayStation Portables. The new software also adds the ability for the servers to convert videos (including unprotected DVD's) into two separate formats: one high-resolution for playing on home devices, and a lower resolution for portable media players.

We caught up with SanDisk while at CTIA this week, to check out their Service Delivery Cards.  SDCs are pre-loaded custom memory cards, each full of digital content ranging from videos clips, TV shows and music, to games and wallpapers.  SanDisk also whipped out their CompactFlash Extreme IV series storage to try to tempt resident SlashGear photographer Daniel Lim.
