VidaBox have announced the RoomClientHD, a compact high-definition video streamer capable of receiving full 1080p and lossless audio from any of the company's media servers.  With an optional slot-loading Blu-ray drive, the RoomClientHD measures 6 x 6 x 2-inches but still manages to pack a DVI port for HDMI/DVI/VGA output, gigabit ethernet, six USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA port and audio inputs and outputs. HP TouchSmart IQ800 media PC: Video Demo

HP have taken the wraps off of their latest TouchSmart PC, the IQ800-series.  Two models make up the new range, the IQ804 and IQ816, the former having a 2.16GHz T5850 Core 2 Duo (667MHz bus, 2MB cache) while the latter has a 2.10GHz T8100 Core 2 Duo (800MHz bus, 3MB cache).  Each uses HP’s TouchSmart interface on a 25.5-inch 1920 x 1200 display, which you can see demonstrated after the cut.  The IQ816 also has a Blu-ray burner and GeForce 9600M GS graphics, while the IQ804 makes do with DVD and GeForce 9300M GS graphics.

Sony VAIO RT-series All-in-One HD Studio

Sony have high aspirations for their final VAIO All-in-One of the day, the RT-series.  They're calling it a HD Studio, "a super-powerful video authoring PC tucked behind a stunning 25.5-inch HDTV".  The RT is based on an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 processor running at up to 2.5GHz (6MB L2 cache), 8GB of RAM and 1TB of storage in dual-SATA user-accessible RAID array; the display itself is 1920 x 1200 driven by an NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT with 512MB of dedicated VRAM. Sony are describing their VAIO LV-series as a High-Definition PC/TV.  Not only is the LV a full desktop media PC, with a 24-inch WUXGA 1920 x 1200 FullHD LCD, up to a 3.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 processor, 4GB of RAM and up to 1TB of 7,200rpm SATA storage, it has an HDMI input so that it can be used as a 1080p display. Acer Aspire X1200 HTPC BIOS issue can kill HDMI

Problems appear to be afoot with Acer's recently announced Aspire X1200 HTPC.  Several users are complaining that their network cards would go into sleep mode and then refuse to wake up without a restart; when told by Acer's tech support team to update the BIOS, the network issue is resolved but the HDMI output no longer works.
