Netflix recently announced the upcoming shows and movies we can expect to see on the service soon, and casually amongst it all, almost as if were a minor note, was a simple statement: ”From September onwards, Netflix will become the exclusive US pay TV home of the latest films from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Pixar.” And just like that, Netflix has become the most important streaming service for many.

Marvel Studios has announced that actress Cate Blanchett is on board to play ‘Hela,’ the studios’ first major female supervillian (as far as movies go, that is). She’ll be playing the character in Thor: Ragnarok, and will be joined by Jeff Goldblum who is playing “Grandmaster.” The announcement is a big deal for Marvel, as Blanchett will usher in the first instance of a Marvel movie featuring a woman as its primary villain.

The Marvel Comics character Deadpool is running for "El Presidente" to be more specific, complete with his own SuperPac. Announced this afternoon by Fox is the fact that Deadpool (a fictional character, we must remind you) is "officially exploring a run for President. They've suggested that a SuperPac is also now in effect under the name "Weapon X-ers for Progress." They suggest that this SuperPac is "totally unaffiliated with Mr. Pool - as is often the case with SuperPacs and the candidates they support.
