Microsoft temporarily stops publishing new Windows Phone apps

It appears that Microsoft is having some issues with a few new Windows Phone 7.5 apps, and as a result has decided to stop publishing new ones as it works on delivering a fix. According to a recent post on the Microsoft blog, there's a glitch with the digital certificates used to sign apps, meaning that some apps which were published in the last few days aren't installing properly. Microsoft also says that the problem has nothing to do with your phone, so at least you don't have to worry about that.

Microsoft: Windows Phone legacy users update, or else

Microsoft: Windows Phone legacy users update, or else

In an update that comes down from the top, straight from Microsoft's Windows Phone officials that is, users will have to move to the Mango update for the mobile OS or get cut off entirely from the app Marketplace. This move is specifically for the smartphone-based software while large apps and games will still be able to be downloaded using Zune software as noted by Windows Phone's Mazar Mohammed. This update is being pushed so that Windows Phone can have a uniform update to their Marketplace and so they can "pave the way for new store features and new apps in the months ahead."

HTC Titan II Review

Over at AT&T you've got two giant choices for hero phones if you want to run with Windows Phone Mango - the Nokia Lumia 900 and the HTC Titan II. Your choices will be based on what you like the phone's hardware to look like, how nice the camera is, and how fabulous the software runs on either device. As it turns out, HTC may have created a silent hit here in the face of the massively promoted Nokia device - will it survive a secondhand mention?

HTC Titan II Hands-on

We're getting our first final-product hands-on experience with the HTC Titan II here at the end of the week, and with its seemingly large 16 megapixel camera, Windows 7.5 Mango, and 4.7-inch display, it appears we've got a beast in our fingers. To be sure, we've also got the iPhone 4S and the HTC One S here to compare to in brief - for their cameras, mostly. Nokia Lumia 900 brings out the Windows Phone lovers

Smartphone seekers brand-loyal to the Microsoft-made mobile operating system Windows Phone will be glad to know that the Nokia Lumia 900 is out now - and reviewers are loving it. Everyone including our own Michael Crider seems to be lauding Nokia's effort in this device which takes their well-received Windows Phone lineup thus far and boosts it to what might be the perfect chassis size with a 4.3-inch display inside. The only down-side appears to be - if tech reviewers across the web are correct - the operating system.

AT&T confirms Windows Phone Tango update soon

AT&T confirms Windows Phone Tango update soon

Windows Phone users working with AT&T-connected devices for the past few weeks and months have been in a bit of a pickle as the carrier has not sent out a Microsoft-made software update made available this January. This update fixed several bugs in Windows Phone 7.5 Mango including a "disappearing keyboard" issue - all of this will now instead be fixed by a slightly more grand update instead. AT&T representative Anne Marshall spoke up this week about how AT&T has decided to skip smaller, incremental updates to Windows Phone in the short run and stick with larger updates like Windows Phone Tango, which is up for release next.

LG Fantasy Mango smartphone photos leaked

LG Fantasy Mango smartphone photos leaked

Another smartphone to add to the Mango world for Windows Phone comes here in the LG Fantasy, code named E740 and very likely the same device we saw earlier this week in the LG Miracle. This device is one that'll be sporting a lovely 4-inch super-bright NOVA display, a 1GHz Snapdragon single-core processor, and a 5 megapixel camera on the back - so you know what that means: mid-range time! LG will certainly need to come correct with the price on this beast if they hope to put a kink in the already standardized set of devices out there for Windows Phone right this minute - drowning is a distinct possibility!

Nokia Lumia 910 set for Mobile World Congress 2012

This year in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress 2012, we're likely to see a brand new Nokia "high-end" device announced and detailed. Forbes has learned from an industry source they trust that MWC 2012 will play host to Nokia's newest smartphone, one that they're saying will "run an unusual software feature normally found only on high-end smartphones." It's quite likely that this means the camera, rumored to be 12 megapixels strong on the rumored Nokia Lumia 910, will be ready for action.
