Apple's new next-gen MacBook Pro with Retina Display was the star of WWDC 2012 this morning, and we couldn't want to check out the 2880 x 1800 15.4-inch screen for ourselves. Right now, that's all we can do: Apple has its new MacBook Pro under glass for the moment, meaning we'll have to wait a little while longer before we can go fully hands-on. This week the new MacBook Pro with Retina display was revealed by Apple and Phil Schiller stepped on stage at WWDC to let us know that not only would it be coming with next-level specifications galore, it would be shipping today. This set of notebooks will cost you $2199, will have 7 hours of battery life, will weigh in at just 4.46 lbs, and will rock out with 2.3GHz quad-core 3rd Generation Intel Core Ivy Brige i7 processors. This device has a 15.4-inch Retina display to start and it's in the Apple store immediately if not soon.

Apple reveals slimmer MagSafe 2 connector

A whole bunch of exciting new developments are coming from Apple's WWDC 2012 event right now, most notably its MacBook Pro refresh. The company's flagship notebook is getting fully revamped with a slimmer body of only 0.7-inches thin. And in order to fit everything on there, you can expect other items to be slimmed down as well, including the MagSafe connector.

Apple unveils next-gen MacBook Pro: Retina display from $2,199

In addition to the refreshed MacBook Airs, Apple has also unveiled the next-generation of the MacBook Pro. It’s a 15.4-inch model with a Retina display, with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 and a pixel density of 220PPI. In addition, it’s thinner and lighter than the current MacBook Pros, coming in a 0.71-inches thick and weighing 4.46 pounds. Apple say it’s 25% thinner than the current MacBook Pros, and almost as thin as the MacBook Air.

WWDC 2012 Keynote gets pre-event Black Banner tease

The fabled Black Banner is back this morning at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference 2012 as we ramp up to the main event with our own live feed and stream, it likely containing that one big reveal we've been waiting for! This event is sure to be the home of a brand new version of Apple's mobile operating system iOS 6, we've seen a banner showing off what appears to be a slightly new iteration of Apple's AirPlay, and of course there's the Black Banner (photographed by @SaschaSegan) which will almost certainly be revealed during or directly after the first keynote. We expect it'll be something fabulous like a brand new MacBook Pro 2012 model or a showing of the final features of OS X Mountain Lion - let's have a peek at what's possible!
