Despite recent reports that Intel's next-gen Ivy Bridge chips may see an 8- to 10-week delay, which pushes the release back to June, insider sources say that Apple may still be launching the much rumored MacBook Pro refresh as early as April. Intel has staggered its shipments before and may give Apple a head start with about 900,000 units, according to DigiTimes' sources in Apple's upstream supply chain.

Apple slim keyboard tech could make Air-thick MacBook Pro
Apple has developed an ultra-slim keyboard design that would allow future MacBook Pro notebooks and others to be even thinner, delivering a layout both tactile enough to suit typists and compact enough for Apple's own design ambitions. Described in a patent application for a "Single Support Lever Keyboard Mechanism" the keyboard is "a thin profile peripheral input device that is both efficient and aesthetically pleasing" Apple writes, as well as opening up new aesthetic possibilities, such as keycaps made from silicone, wood, stone, glass or even polished meteorite.

Seagate Momentus XT 750GB SSHD official, test videos released
The folks at Seagate have announced the 3rd generation unit in their Momentus solid state hybrid drive line, here in the Momentus XT 750GB - as large as an HDD and as fast as an SSD, and at one tenth the price. This newest unit comes with 750GB of space, SLC NAND at 8GB, and a SATA 6GB/s NCQ interface. This newest drive has 50% more capacity than the previous generation Seagate Momentus, is 1.5x faster, and has both double the NAND flash and double the interface speed of its predecessor. Though it has the same name as its 500GB older sibling, this newest generation hybrid drive acts as the new plateau for Seagate and is available at a handful of online retailers today.
