Apple’s intentions for their flagship laptop range, the MacBook Pro, made headlines this week with a new set of rumors suggesting 2011′s model would mark the transition to not only solid-state storage but Intel’s Light Peak connectivity for high-speed data transfers. Whether this particular speculation turns out to be accurate or not, SSD – and abandoning optical drives – certainly seems the most likely route for Apple to take.
Apple has kicked off its Black Friday deals, with both the US and UK online stores - among others - offering discounts across the Mac, MacBook Pro, iPad, iPod and accessory lines. In the US store, you can save $101 off a new iMac, MacBook Pro or 13-inch MacBook Air, while there's $41 off an iPad.

ColorWare is once again challenging tech owners to flex their aesthetic skills, offering Apple's latest MacBook Air with the usual variety of hues and finishes. There's a fair amount of flexibility, too: you can choose different colors for the lid, logo, screen surround, hinge, keyboard tray and bottom of the ultraportable.

As you might already know, Apple aims to split off their App Store from their as-of-now still larger iTunes store, which they will still use to sell both video and audio files. Now, this sort of thing doesn't just happen overnight, and certainly it doesn't occur without testing on everyday folks like you or I. Therefor, they need testers. You can't be just ANYONE, you've got to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have strong customer service skills. The 7-inch slate is expected to sell well all around the world. Logitech unveiled a really cool keyboard this week that is a first for the company and the market. Apple is apparently acknowledging the display issues some MacBook Air users are experiencing with their new ultraportables, though so far only internally. BGR were sent two screenshots from Apple's internal systems, detailing faults whereby the MacBook Air's display fades from dark to light when waking from sleep, and where horizontal flickering is observed.

No product launch is ever 100-percent perfect, and it appears Apple's MacBook Air is the latest to suffer some teething pains. Some users are reporting visual glitches, display failures and other issues related to the new ultraportable's screen, with both 11.6- and 13.3-inch versions of the Air experiencing the faults.

iFixit weren't exactly impressed with the new MacBook Air's upgrade potential, with Apple soldering the RAM into place and using a non-standard SSD, but that hasn't stopped PhotoFast from coming out with a new accessory. On Wednesday, Apple's Steve Jobs stood on stage and, as he usually does, said that he had one more thing to announce after the event supposedly ended. This time around, after unveiling plenty of new additions to the software front, Jobs introduced the brand new line-up of MacBook Air. Featuring a 13- and 11-inch model, the new laptops are certainly some of the most attractive pieces of hardware Apple has released to date. And if you find yourself wanting one, or planning on buying one, you're apparently not alone, as an analyst has come forward to predict that Apple will sell 700,000 units by the end of the fourth quarter, 2010.
