Lumia 850 or 750 might be the RM-1182 just certified in China

Under Nokia's regime, there'd be half a dozen or more Lumia smartphones popping up in a year. Now owned by Microsoft, that seems to have cut that number a bit. That doesn't mean, however, that Microsoft won't be churning out new models. In fact, here we have rumors of two Lumia smartphones coming out this year but first making a stop at China's certification agency. Those two, which might either be the Lumia 750 or Lumia 850 or both, are still in addition to the Lumia 650 rumored last month.

Lumia 650 might be a low-end phone with a surprising metal body

Lumia 650 might be a low-end phone with a surprising metal body

Nokia's, and now Microsoft's, Lumia lines hasn't really been big on premium materials. While the rest of the smartphone world are donning armors of metal, the Windows Phone models have remained unabashedly plastic. Even the new flagships, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, defied expectations and wishes and still flaunted a polycarbonate shell. It seems strange, then, that one of the newest Lumia's to be clad in metal material won't be a high-end smartphone but rather an entry-level Lumia 650, expected to debut within the first half of 2016.

Windows 10 Mobile delayed until 2016 for Windows Phone 8 users

Bad news for Windows Phone 8 users today: you're going to be waiting a bit longer than expected before upgrading to Windows 10 Mobile. Microsoft has said that the update to Windows 10 Mobile, originally planned to rollout starting this month for thus running select Windows 8 and 8.1 phones, has been delayed until early 2016. An exact reason for the holdup wasn't provided by Microsoft, nor was a specific date in the coming months for when over-the-air updates would begin.

Lumia 850 renders appear, mid range phone still MIA

Early last October, Microsoft unveiled what would be its Windows 10 Mobile flagship, not a Surface Phone, but the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. Then just last week, it announced the Lumia 550, what would become the first entry level for the shiny new Windows 10 OS. With both ends of the device spectrum set, all that's missing is a mid tier offering. Supposedly, that spot will be filed in by the Lumia 850, whose latest renders just appeared over the weekend. Sadly, the smartphone itself has yet to make an appearance.

Cancelled Nokia McLaren prototype photos arrive a year late

Cancelled Nokia McLaren prototype photos arrive a year late

Some dreams do come true, but many also remain just as they are: dreams. One of those dreams, at least for Windows Phone fans, was the Nokia RM-1052, more popular for its codename McLaren. Heavily leaked near the end of 2014, what should have been Microsoft's new flagship vanished without a trace, to be replaced a year later by the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. Now it has resurfaced on the Interwebs again, and again as a prototype, as a leaked device, and as a reminder of a feature that never came to be and might never come at all.

Microsoft Lumia 950 launches at AT&T on Friday

Early last week, rumor surfaced that AT&T would launch Microsoft’s Lumia 950 on November 20, something the wireless carrier confirmed in an announcement today. The smartphone will be first available online through AT&T’s website on November 17, then Friday at its retail stores across the nation. This makes the carrier the first to offer Microsoft’s new Lumia handset — the smaller of the two, that is.

Sources have told both Windows Central and The Verge that the Lumia 950 will be launching on AT&T on Friday, November 20th. Windows 10 Mobile upgrade schedule leaked by Orange Poland

Windows 10 Mobile upgrade schedule leaked by Orange Poland

The Microsoft Surface Book has practically stolen the spotlight from the new Lumia smartphones, which were also announced at the same media event. We will, however, be reminded of them again soon, as new Windows 10 smartphones hit the market in a few weeks. But these are just two (or three, if you count the Acer Jade Primo) among dozens of existing Windows Phone devices. When will those be getting the promise of Windows 10? Fortunately for eager fans, Orange Poland has the information, which was, naturally, leaked to the public.

Windows 10 Mobile coming in December

Windows 10 Mobile coming in December

Microsoft has just unloaded a couple of interesting new devices, including adequate yet disappointingly plastic new Lumia smartphones. One thing it didn't announce, however, was when the mobile version of its Windows 10 operating system will arrive. After all, a new flagship smartphone deserves a new flagship OS right? Sadly, that might not be the case. In on its Facebook account, Microsoft reveals that Windows 10 Mobile won't be rolling out until December, a good month after the Lumia 950 and 950 XL go to market.

Microsoft Display Dock hands-on: Continuum could be huge

The smallest gadget in Microsoft's big Windows 10 device launch today could end up being its most important. The Microsoft Display Dock, announced alongside the Lumia 950 and 950 XL smartphones, is a diminutive box that enables Continuum, effectively turning a Windows 10 smartphone into a PC, complete with full display and peripheral support.

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL and 950 hands-on

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL and 950 hands-on

Lumia fans have been a patient bunch, not entirely by choice, waiting on a new set of flagship phones. Despite Microsoft's various and vocal commitments to Windows 10 on smartphones, it hasn't given much outward sign of what hardware might have been in the pipeline. Today that all changed, of course, with the Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950, which filled the gap in Microsoft's top end (as well as bringing along a low-cost model too, the Lumia 550).
