LG Revolution LTE Review
With all the Android smartphones to choose from, the field of competition is getting a little crowded. However, the 4G battle field has a much lower population. (There is a separate battle about what 4G actually means. See the SlashGear 4G section for more on that discussion). Now LG is bringing the newly released Revolution to the battlefield. The Revolution was released on Verizon’s LTE network. Since the Revolution is only the third LTE phone, there is even less competition on the LTE playing field. It is no secret that we love the speeds possible on LTE, but does the Revolution have what it takes to compete with the glossy hi-def display of the Droid Charge, or the performance of the HTC ThunderBolt? LTE Verizon Revolution by LG due May 26 for $250
Verizon has officially confirmed the release date for the LG Revolution, the carrier’s latest 4G LTE smartphone. Set to hit the network on May 26 priced at $249.99 with a new, two year agreement, the Verizon Revolution by LG has a 4.3-inch display, 1GHz single-core Snapdragon processor, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front webcam.
Verizon LG Revolution 4G clears FCC with VoLTE
CTIA 2011's listing of the LG Revolution 4G tipped us that the incoming smartphone was imminent, and now the handset has been spotted clearing the FCC. Potentially leapfrogging the HTC Thunderbolt as the first 4G LTE smartphone to hit Verizon, the Revolution crossed the FCC as the LG-VS910.

Two Mystery LG Phones Slated For CTIA E-Tech Awards
CTIA’s website has listed the finalists for its E-Tech awards and two unannounced LG phones made the list. No information about the mysterious phones was given out, but rumors are that they will be on the T-Mobile network. The other finalists for the awards are the Motorola Atrix, HTC Thunderbolt, and the LG Revolution.

Verizon Completes First Ever Voice Over LTE Call on a Commercial Network
Today Verizon Chief Technology Officer Tony Melone has reported that Verizon has accomplished the very first VoLTE (voice over LTE) call ever on a commercial network. The call was made on Tuesday, February 8th at 9:45 AM ET and was made with an LG Revolution 4G, which we just happen to have a video of since we saw this device in person at CES 2011. What does this call mean for the world of mobile? It basically means that not only will Verizon 4G LTE users now be able to talk and browse the internet at the same time, the rest of the world has made a bigger step toward simultaneous voice and data for everyone.
