LG Optimus Vu II arrives to battle Note II

The fight of the phablets continues, with LG rolling out the new Optimus Vu II to take on Samsung's second-gen Galaxy Note II. The 5-inch Vu II keeps the unusual 4:3 aspect ratio of the original Vu - which we reviewed in Verizon LG Intuition form - but slims the bezels to make a phone that's 7mm shorter and 5mm wider; there's also VoLTE for voice calls over 4G in addition to high-speed data, and a new, second-gen "Rubberdium Pen 2.0" stylus.

Leaked LG Intuition image gives away possible release date

Well this is interesting: the folks over at DroidDog have come across a new press shot for the LG Intuition, and this leaked image might just give us some insight on when the phone will launch. The hint appears to be hidden in the date displayed on the phone: September 15, 2012. While that may seem like nothing at first glance, DroidDog points out that companies frequently like to hide information like this in press shots, so that date displayed on the phone's screen might just turn out to be the date that the LG Intuition is launching.

LG Optimus Vu spotted with Verizon markings

It appears very much like LG will be bringing their rectangular 5-inch display-having Android device known as the Optimus Vu to Verizon this summer if a leaked photo is to be believed. This photo (seen in the gallery below) comes via Android Police who note that this device will likely take the place of the Galaxy Note that's now headed to T-Mobile instead. LG Optimus Vu Hands-On

LG Optimus Vu Hands-On

This week LG's Director of European Marketing Daniel Hernandez spoke of their brand new line of hero device including three pillars: speed, design, and display. The first and perhaps most important device they showed off in-hand that follows the design tenants they've laid out here is the LG Optimus Vu, a massive in-between device which is certainly too large to be a smartphone and too small to be a full-fledged tablet. Though it may seem at first to be a "me too" device after the Samsung Galaxy Note released months ago and touted as the ultimate Samsung device this week at MWC 2012, the LG Optimus Vu is a titan in and of itself.
