This week the folks at LG are coming in heavy with the many varieties of Android they’ll be presenting the globe with throughout 2012, one of the more recognizable ones being the LG Optimus 3D Max. This device takes what LG delivered last year with the Optimus 3D and amps it up with a much brighter display and a bit more power under the hood – not to mention a slimmer device overall. One of the biggest complaints users had about the Optimus 3D originally was that it ended up being bulkier than they’d hoped – now we’re seeing perhaps the Optimus 3D perfected – is it enough to convince us that glasses-free 3D is really a business we want to get into?

What we’ve got here is what feels like a much less bulky device, first of all. The original Optimus 3D was awesome in its first to market ability to use 3D without glasses, but never really felt like an everyday device because of its mass. Now LG is banking that the mass reduction almost exclusively will be enough to boost this phone’s sales to acceptable levels. This device has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 5 megapixel camera (two of them on the back, in fact).

The LG Optimus 3D came to the USA as the LG Thrill for AT&T last year, and having just put it back in the box for the final time this past week I can certainly say the following. The LG Optimus 3D Max is certainly smaller and lighter than its predecessor. That said, the 3D technology appears to be exactly the same – take that how you will.

This device has Gingerbread right out of the box, a 4.3-inch display with NOVA technology, and of course has the same 3D lenticular technology as it had in its first iteration and will be attempting to woo the masses with that factor as a winning feature for a perfect odd device. For more information on LG’s line of device for 2012 hit up our [LG portal] or for all the awesome mobile action you can handle hit up our [MWC 2012 portal] all week long! Note also that we’ve got more photos and video on the way for this and the rest of the LG line soon!

This week it appears that one lucky fellow has found his way into the LG repository of unrevealed products with a touchy-feely look at each and every one of the Mobile World Congress 2012 devices. You’re about to get a glimpse of no less than the LG Optimus LTE, the LG Optimus L7, LG Optimus 4X HD, LG Optimus 3D Max, LG Optimus L3, and of course the LG Optimus Vu, each of them captured by Telefonino. Each of these devices have been announced previous to this event, but this is basically the first time we’ve seen each of them “in the wild” as it were.

Very briefly let’s go through and see a fun new point or two on each of these devices before we see them in person next week in Spain, starting with the LG Optimus L7. With the LG Optimus L7, you’ll see the line’s newly minted NFC capabilities in full working order – also the three-button nature of the device, with one physical button in the middle and two haptic buttons on either side lighting up.

Next with the LG Optimus L3 you’ll notice that LG is coming forward with some smaller devices as well as large, this device still working with Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread out of the box as well while many models will be starting with Ice Cream Sandwich.

Next we’ll have a look at a video the Telefonino folks have taken of the LG Optimus LTE aka LTE Tag just so you can see the absolutely absurd pull-up antenna that happens to exist on this international model.

With the LG Optimus 4X complete with NVIDIA Tegra 3 you’ll get a glimpse of the Ice Cream Sandwich-related user interface customizability that LG has presented with their own custom UI skin.

The LG Optimus 3D Max aka 3D Cube is very very similar to its predecessor, the LG Optimus 3D, save for a few modifications to the innards and a thinned-down profile – seen here.

Finally for the LG Optimus Vu we see our first look at it sitting next to its biggest competitor the Samsung Galaxy Note – let the fight begin! We’ll be seeing this whole collection for ourselves at the start of next week in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress 2012 – stick with us here on SlashGear for total coverage!

The next generation of 3D smartphones has begun to drop here just one year after we first saw similar devices drop at Mobile World Congress 2011. It appears that LG will be the first big manufacturer to come back swinging with a new Optimus 3D, this time called the LG Optimus 3D Cube complete with 3D video editing. At the moment it appears that this device is only set to be released in Korea, but afterwards we can expect this handset to hit at least one carrier here in the United States – bet on it!

This device continues the trend of adding more and more letters to the name of a device in order to make it seem more awesome, this time actually improving the specifications along with the name though as well. What we’ve got here is a massive 4.3-inch IPS display for brightness and beastly sharpness, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor from what we must assume is Texas Instruments OMAP line once again, and a very similar shape to the last Optimus 3D model all around.

This time around though the device is much thinner than before, it measuring in at a tiny 126.8 x 67.4 x 9.6 mm, this including an NFC chip as well. This device is coming with Android 2.3 Gingerbread with no word on a timeframe for Ice Cream Sandwich and does include a custom user interface like the first 3D model from LG with lovely 3D glasses-free excellence across the display.

This device also works with the awesome LG Tag system which allows you to make groupings of settings then attach those settings to an NFC-activated label. You can then switch the way your phone looks and acts by simply placing it near the card with the NFC tag in it whenever you wish. In addition, the LG Optimus 3D Cube has full 3D video editing software as well as a 3D mapping application right out of the box.

We fully expect to see this device live and in action next week at Mobile World Congress 2012 – see you there!
