Tokyo’s eccentric nature and distinct charm have filtered directly into the Tokyo Motor Show, and frankly we wouldn’t have it any other way. On Japan’s biggest stage, many of the world’s foremost automotive players have come to impress, discuss, and shape how we’ll interact and navigate our way around in the future. We braved the sauna-like conditions on the floor to bring you these buttery otoro bites.

Lexus LF-FC Concept is Japan’s sleek answer to the S-Class

Long, sleek, with a massive mesh grille up front and substantial muscle in the rear, no one can accuse Lexus of a boring looking concept here. For all of the futuristic concepts, wacky robots, and sort-of cars we’ve seen today in Tokyo, the Lexus LF-FC may be the most significant, and the most likely to actually be on the road in some form, in the near future.

2016 Lexus GS F First Drive

“Man, this is nice,” my driving partner says, as if a little surprised. We’re just seated inside the 2016 Lexus GS F, awash in colorful leathers, soft Alcantara, and crisp digital displays. While I’m trying to figure out how far we are from the Circuito de Jarama track, our destination for the day, 8:30a.m. traffic engulfs Madrid on the roads all around us.

2016 Lexus RX first drive – Best-seller goes bold

2016 Lexus RX first drive – Best-seller goes bold

There's no arguing with quite how important the RX is to Lexus. The company credits it with kickstarting the "midsize luxury crossover segment" - that's fancy SUV to you and I - back in 1998, and since then over 1.2m have been sold. You could forgive Lexus for playing it safe, then, when it comes to refreshing the best-selling model in its line-up.

Sorry McFly, Lexus’ Hoverboard is just a clever ruse

The Lexus Hoverboard demo has gone live, with a full 2-minute video of the real-deal innovation playing out in the world's first "hoverpark." This hoverboard requires that the user be hovering above a metal surface, so we can safely assume that every bit of footage you see here was captured above a surface that, at some distance below the surface, is metal enough. Here Lexus demonstrates "the desire to create enjoyment out of motion." We'll take two please in neon pink, thank you.

Lexus teases hoverboard again, promises full reveal on August 5

It was almost a month ago exactly that out of the blue Lexus released a video showing off a "real, rideable hoverboard." With a design and shape clearly inspired by a skateboard, little else was shown in the teaser, with an abrupt ending as someone approached the hoverboard and was just about to put their foot on it. Well, the hoverboard, simply called Lexus SLIDE, has made another appearance in video form, with Lexus promising more details on August 5th.
