Sony E-mount interchangeable lens spec goes public in April

Sony opted not to use the Micro Four Thirds standard for its NEX interchangeable lens cameras, instead developing its own E-mount system, and now it plans to open that technology up for third-party lens manufacturers. As well as allowing for third-party E-mount lenses for use with the NEX-3, NEX-5 and NEX-VG10 cameras, it will also allow for mount adapters for other manufacturers' lenses to be attached to Sony's models. Samsung NX11 Unveiled at CES 2011

Samsung is pushing hard into the DSLR market, announcing many products, the NX11 will be the top of the line and will feature Samsung's new i-Function lenses. The device will replace the older NX10 and will be one of the first devices compatible with with the new i-Function range of lenses which offer up the ability to change shooting settings with the press of a button on the lens itself. Panasonic outs 3D lens for micro four-thirds Lumix G cameras

I just mentioned the new Lumix GH2 digital camera that Panasonic unveiled today. I mentioned that there was a new 3D lens that was compatible with that camera and the lens is compatible with the entire series of G cameras from Panasonic. The tipped Olympus PEN E-P2 black-on-black kit has made its official debut, a black-clad P2 Micro Four Thirds camera complete with matching M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 17mm pancake lens and FL-14 flash, priced at $999.99 when it drops in October 2010.  Meanwhile a second version - which switches the black FL-14 flash for a black VF-2 electronic viewfinder - will also be launched, at €1,079.  There are also two new lenses to choose between. Sony compact Alpha DSLR concept test-bed for new snap-on lens system?

Sony's new concept "interchangeable lens compact camera" for PMA 2010 this week may be catching glances for its small body size and possible indication that the company are planning a jump into the Micro Four Thirds market, but according to Amateur Photographer the really interesting part might be the lens mount itself.  They were closely watching Masashi Imamura, Sony's President of Personal Imaging and Sound Business Group at the company's press launch, and he removed the re-attached the concept Alpha DSLR's lens with none of the usual twisting.
