Today's Video of the Day features one of my favorite childhood toys: LEGOs. Someone decided that they'd make a rubberband gun from these simple building blocks. However, this isn't your ordinary rubberband gun. [youtube qgiUSEpg8Xc] Read The Full Story

Desk created from 35,000 Lego Bricks

, Aug 8th 2007 Discuss [3]

I swear some people just have way too much time and money on their hands. This desk made entirely of legos is proof of it. Honestly anyone with an actual day job would never have time to do this. Read The Full Story

LEGO Guitar Hero controller can really rock out

Man, LEGOs are awesome, there's just nothing that you can't build out of them, except maybe a space shuttle, but I'm sure one of these days someone will build one of those too. As you might have guessed, someone's built something really cool from the tiny bricks. This time it's a fully-functional Guitar Hero controller. Read The Full Story

Minor Mass Production

Neatorama points to this incredible Lego Car Factory, obviously the product of someone with too much time on their hands and an obsession with constructing tiny vehicles. Still, they probably said the same about the people behind Toyota, and look at them now. [youtube GQ3AcPEPbH0] Some satisfying toggle-switches allow selections of colour, and then the cogs and gears hum into life to shuttle bricks between a variety of arms and construction platforms. Fantastic stuff! [via Neatorama]

Lego Tow Truck

I have a love/hate relationship with Christmas these days: love because I adore seeing all the incredible toys unveiled each year, hate because I resent the fact that I didn't have them when I was younger! One of my favourites has always been Lego Technics, and they haven't disappointed me in 2006... This behemoth is the Lego Technic Tow Truck, new to the range and complete with a pneumatic telescopic boom arm, winch, full working steering and an engine that actually has moving pistons and a spinning radiator fan. Add in the TECHNIC Motorbox and you can use the gears, motor and axles to power the truck. The Tow Truck can be rebuilt into a Heavy Load Truck, too, so once you've suffered the indignity of watching your kids build it far faster than you ever could, you can watch them build something new in, again, a quicker time than it takes for you to figure out which way the kettle cord plugs in. At £89.99 ($170) it's available now. Lego

The skyline replica of New York City at Legoland in Carlsbad, California is utterly amazing.  Aside from the jaw dropping details, the photos posted on BrickShelf is just as impressive! The World Trade Center isn’t featured, but the new proposed building to be built is in its place is.  More pics after the jump. Read The Full Story

Ernie’s Alive and Walking

Every kid, and yes even myself – dream of building a robot of some sort without using a pre-written set of instructions.  Unfortunately, I never accomplished my dream so I’ll have to live vicariously through Smitty.  He’s the creator of an eight-legged robot that measures 5-inches in high, 17-inches long, and 9-inches wide.  The beast is brought to life and walking, thanks to its eight legs and help from a motor.  Click to watch the video after the jump.
