Xbox One boots in 17 seconds, among leaked revelations

The latest Xbox One revelations ahead of its official Nov. 22 release date come by way of Twitter user @Moonlightswami, whose early acquisition of a console was likely made possible through a mistake on the part of Target. Among @Moonlightswami's confirmed findings are a 17-second boot time, an initial 500MB software update, some very large game downloads in the Xbox Live Marketplace, and others. But he paid a price for sharing those findings via YouTube; more on that little drama later.

Nexus 8 possibly leaked on Android website

The Nexus 8 tablet may have just been leaked on the Android wbesite. If you go to the Apps & Entertainment promotional page on the site and scroll two-thirds of the way down the screen, you can see a woman sitting at a table and holding a tablet that appears to be about eight inches long. The Verge points out that Google never shows "generic" photos of devices that don't exist, leading us to believe the tablet may very well be the company's next big hardware move.

Sony aims to cut down on “leakage” of prototype handsets

Leaks are common, and provide details and looks at what companies are up to before they get around to officially showing off their goods. Sony in particular experienced quite a few leaks this year, particularly of its Xperia Z1 "Honami" smartphone, so much so that the eventual unveiling revealed little that we didn't already know. The device maker is trying to reduce this problem, posting device rules around one of its offices.

The specifications of this smartphone are as-yet unknown, but have been tipped to replicate those of the LG G2 rather closely.

Moto X budget edition may include swappable casing colors

While the current first-wave Moto X devices from Motorola allow custom-order colors and etching, a tip today suggests that a low-cost version of the device might include the ability to swap out casings whenever the user chooses. What we're seeing today is a combination of a photo of some colored backsides of a next-generation Moto X (or whatever it'll be called in the future) alongside reminder that Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside spoke up recently on a low-cost device for developing countries. Could this be it?
