Microsoft Lumia 950 XL flagship leaks

Microsoft may have been focusing on Windows 10 lately, but it also has a pair of flagship smartphones in the pipeline, photos of one of which have now leaked. The Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL - otherwise known by their codenames, Talkman and Cityman - are expected to make their official debut in September or October this year, but the larger Lumia 950 XL has apparently escaped early in prototype form, at least.

Apple MVNO talks in US, Europe tipped

Apple MVNO talks in US, Europe tipped

Apple is planning to follow in Google’s footsteps and launch its own mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in both the United States and Europe, according to sources. The unnamed service is said to be undergoing private trials in the United States, while the European ambitions are said to be at the in-talk stages. Under such an arrangement, mobile (presumably iPhone) users would pay Apple directly for space it leases from established wireless carriers. That assumes Apple will ever move beyond testing.

Galaxy Note 5, S6 edge+ gets an early hands-on leak

Galaxy Note 5, S6 edge+ gets an early hands-on leak

From time to time, Samsung lets a few retailers get a privileged preview of upcoming devices, which then become fountains of leaks and rumors. Sounds almost counterproductive if you're trying to keep a lid on things. That's exactly what a certain retail shop owner is claiming on Reddit, having gotten some very early hands on time with Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+, expected to arrive next week. Fortunately, he was generous enough to share perhaps what shouldn't be shared, though do always take leaks with a grain of salt.

iPhone 6s CAD renders reveal thicker anti-bendgate frames

iPhone 6s CAD renders reveal thicker anti-bendgate frames

It seems that Apple really took the recent bendgate scandal that rocked its iPhone 6 to heart. A new batch of images, actually more CAD design renders than marketing material, detail both the overall design and dimensions of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus due next month. Though not exactly new information, it confirms something we've expected and might have even dreaded. The smartphones will indeed come in slightly thicker shells. But worry not. It's all for the sake of withstanding the mass of your posterior.

Apple and BMW said wary but willing on car collaboration

Apple and BMW said wary but willing on car collaboration

Negotiations between Apple and BMW are tipped to reignite, after the German automaker reportedly wowed Tim Cook and other execs with its production talents. The Apple CEO and his colleagues paid an unpublicized visit to BMW last year, reports earlier this week suggested, with Cook attending a meeting at the car company's HQ, while other execs toured the Leipzig plant. Believed to be on the table, despite denials by BMW, are possible plans to collaborate on a car.

iPhone 6s part leaks reveal camera rings, flex cables, home button

As Apple is expected to announce its next iPhone in September, as it does every year, production of the device has surely begun by now. With that comes the occasional leak of things like small internal parts, such as what was revealed on Thursday. French site Nowhereelse was first to show images of components that are said to be from the iPhone "6s" and "6s Plus," including the device's flex cable, exterior camera ring, and a part from the home button.

Sources: United Airlines hit with cyberattack from OPM hackers

The hackers responsible for the massive data breach against the U.S. Office of Personnel Management reportedly also hit United Airlines with a cyberattack, doing so at about the same time that they targeted the US government. The hackers are also said to be responsible for the breach that took place against insurance provider Anthem, ultimately leaving them with a massive amount of data on both government workers and insured Americans alike. According to multiple sources, United Airlines spotted a breach in its computer system in May or June, and the resulting investigation found the China-based hackers were responsible.

Sources: Google tried to nab a veggie burger biz

Veggie burgers have a poor reputation, but it is largely undeserved at this point, as the quality of such meat-imitation creations have improved drastically over the years. Veggie burgers also are increasingly looking like the future, as those with concerns about the viability and impact of factory farming have become more vocal. Google, at least if sources are correct, recognizes that approaching future and recently made a business move that would have given the company a part in it.

Amazon drive-thru grocery store project tipped

Amazon drive-thru grocery store project tipped

It's no secret that Amazon has grocery-based ambitions, with its AmazonFresh and Amazon Pantry services both being options (the former of the two has limited availability, however). That's not the end of its efforts, however, at least if recently surfaced sources are any indication. Amazon is reportedly looking into a drive thru grocery store service in which customers could simply pull up in their car and have their groceries put in the back, no getting out and shopping necessary.

Moto G 2015: latest leak details packaging and specs

It is anticipated Motorola will be officially introducing the third-generation model of its Moto G smartphone tomorrow, but the odds are high we won't be surprised by what we hear. The handset has been the source of numerous leaks, the rate of which we've seen increase rapidly over the past couple weeks (and it's not the only Motorola product to surface early). The handset has shown up on retailers websites, in a video, in clear and blurry photos alike -- and now it has been detailed in what may be the first unboxing.

Galaxy S6 Mini pics leak, launch tipped for August

Samsung is facing declining sales with its Galaxy S6 devices having been on the market for a while now. To push new sales it needs a new smartphone and some new images have leaked showing that the company is set to launch a smaller version of the Galaxy S6 dubbed the Galaxy S6 Mini. A Mini version of the smartphone would indicate that it will have a smaller screen and should be less expensive to purchase as well.
