Dell’s upcoming 12-inch budget notebook, the Vostro 1220, has leaked, and it scores a few points for being neither CULV nor Atom based.  Instead, the Vostro 1220 gets an Intel Core 2 Duo T6750 processor, up to 4GB of RAM and a 320GB hard-drive, plus a DVD burner.

Considering a new Lenovo ThinkPad in the next nine months?  You’ll be interested in the latest leaked notebook roadmap from the company, then, which tips such delights as the Lenovo ThinkPad T400 – which we last saw being run over by a 26k pound truck – as dropping in mid-July, plus a storm of new Intel Calpella-based machines arriving in early 2010.

The first image and set of rumored specs for the ThinkPad T400s was leaked a few days ago. While Lenovo is still mum about the release date, price or specs come these two videos of the T400s. The first video demonstrates just how well built and tough this thing is. No worries, I won’t spoil the ending for you – just make sure to click on over to watch it get run over by a 26,000 pound DOW truck. The second video shows the T400s getting physically abused by the “tornado chasing” team members. It’s a crime treating such a great laptop this way!

In-the-wild photos of Dell’s upcoming Latitude Z600 notebook have emerged, and while there are no solid specifications known at present, it’s looking to be an interesting portable.  The Z600 is tipped as having a 15-inch display, while the logos suggest Intel’s Centrino platform serves up the underlying grunt.

MacBook Pro confusion this weekend, as some owners of the new unibody 13- and 15-inch notebooks are reporting that their machines are apparently limited to 1.5Gb/s SATA connections rather than the faster 3.0Gb/s SATA-II.  Full details are unclear, but it seems that Apple have either switched to SATA hardware or used firmware for the newest MacBook Pros that limits hard-drive connections to the slower speed.

MSI’s X-Slim range is about to get a new screen option, in the shape of the 15.6-inch X600.  Notebook Italia have unboxed the biggest X-Slim in advance of its late-June European launch, finding a laptop that may not be as portable as its smaller siblings, but which is perhaps all the more usable.

eleadE-LEAD has revealed a new product called the Bluetooth Lazy Pad and for the life of me, I can’t figure out what’s so lazy about it. I mean, it combines two things–a keyboard and mouse–into one device. That’s pretty hard-working, if you ask me.

But I digress. The Lazy Pad allows you to connect wirelessly to your laptop by means of a Bluetooth connection. But for those of you who lack this function, you can connect using the USB port as well.

Featuring a 500mAh battery, this gizmo is capable of 8 hours of usage. My only real complaint here is the device is kind of oddly designed. It looks like it can fold but obviously can’t. Also, where’s the mouse? I guess the whole thing is the mouse? And it works like a remote control of sorts? Either way, interesting gadget and might be worth checking out if you hate your laptop’s trackpad.
