Build-A-Bear Workshop shows off new Kinect enabled bears

I have quite the love/hate relationship with Build-A-Bear Workshop. That place is 6-year-old girl nirvana so each time we go to the mall I have to keep the place well out of the line of site for my daughter. The little bears are cute, but the bill adds up quickly because apparently bears can't be purchased without the proper ensemble and accessories to go with it. Build-a-Bear Workshop and Microsoft are working together to promote the new Kinectimals Now with Bears game.

Kinect sales miss Japanese targets

Kinect sales miss Japanese targets

A Microsoft exec has admitted that Kinect sales have proved disappointing in Japan, with the Xbox 360 still failing to grab market share as expected. Xbox Japan chief Takashi Sensui confirmed that sales of the motion-tracking peripheral "haven't met our initial expectations in Japan," MarketWatch reports, with the gadget "still not widely recognized." At IFA, a university from Berlin was on hand showing off a very cool automated wheelchair that uses the Microsoft Kinect sensor and a netbook to navigate around the home.

Kinect hack makes monkey toy dance into your nightmares

I'm not a big fan of monkey toys; it all goes back to my youth and Monkey Shines with that creepy monkey beating the cymbals. Creepy or not, this is an interesting hack.

Nyko Zoom for Kinect up for pre-order at Amazon and more

If you are a big fan of the Xbox 360 and you have a Kinect sensor you want to use but don’t have the space to play with it the Zoom for Kinect made by Nyko may be the answer you need. I have talked about this lens accessory a few times now and it is a very simple and cool way to reduce the room you need to use the Kinect with accuracy. I know I need one of these for my house because the Kinect never works in the room we play it in because of the small space available.
