Optimus Popularis keyboard slims while key-displays grow

, Jun 24th 2010 Discuss [1]

We've been following Art Lebedev's Popularis keyboard project since the first mutterings late last year, and from the scant details we've seen it looks like the company has certainly learnt its lessons from the original Optimus Maximus.  A new image released today shows the comparative key display sizes of the two 'boards: despite being smaller and slimmer than its predecessor, the Popularis will have better sized-keys with bigger, higher-resolution displays. Razer outs awesome Tron keyboard and mouse chocked full o’ win

, Jun 24th 2010 Discuss [0]

As a child of the 80, you can bet I watched Tron enough times to wear out the old VHS. I love that movie and blew more than a few weeks' allowance playing the arcade game at the corner gas station. With the new Tron flick set to launch soon there are all manner of new toys and other items coming to market to rekindle those childhood memories. Read The Full Story

iOS4 iPhone 3GS works with iPad Keyboard Dock [Video]

, Jun 22nd 2010 Discuss [0]

No, not an iPad someone accidentally put through a hot wash, you're looking at an iPhone 3GS running iOS4 and seated in the iPad's Keyboard Dock.  Andy Ihnatko slapped his freshly-updated smartphone into the dock to see if it would work, and sure enough it does.  Not only basic text entry, too: the shortcut and media control buttons are all playing nicely. Optimus Popularis: thinner, faster & simpler than Maximus

, Jun 7th 2010 Discuss [0]

Art Lebedev Studios are slowly dripping out details on their second-generation keyboard, the Optimus Popularis, and they're certainly hitting the keywords we geeks love to hear.  The keyboard - which will have displays for keys - will be thinner, faster and simpler for less money than its Maximus predecessor, though considering that costs around $1,600 "less" is a relative term. , Jun 4th 2010 Discuss [0]

Geeks are some of the most innovative people on the planet. You just can’t keep a geek down, as evidenced by Matt Daughtrey. The dude is a coder and had to have surgery on his left arm leaving him one-handed while the other heals. Read The Full Story

Taiji tablet hides stowaway Bluetooth keyboard [Video]

, May 28th 2010 Discuss [0]

Remember BYD's Snaptop concept, the Snapdragon-powered tablet with a wireless Bluetooth keyboard hiding in the rear panel?  It looks like someone at Taiji Electronics has been paying attention; they're apparently bringing along their new slate to Computex 2010, a VIA C7 1.2GHz based Windows 7 tablet, and it stores a Bluetooth keyboard in the back section complete with a kick-stand. Lego keyboard stickers for Mac makes you keyboard geeky and comfortable

, May 17th 2010 Discuss [1]

If you read SlashGear you know we are, suckers for stuff made from Lego building blocks. One of my favorite Lego gadgets was the robot that could solve the Rubik's Cube using a Motorola Droid. I have also seen some geeks take Lego blocks and use them for keys on their keyboard, but that would be uncomfortable. Read The Full Story

, May 13th 2010 Discuss [0]

After months of silence, Art Lebedev Studios have poked their head above the parapet to announce that they're still working on the Optimus Popularis keyboard we last saw renders of in May 2008.  Unlike the Optimus Maximus, the Popularis won't use OLED for its display-bearing keys. ClamCase for iPad: because you really want a netbook [Video]

, May 6th 2010 Discuss [1]

ClamCase seem determined to reignite arguments over whether iPad buyers should "just buy a netbook instead", with their keyboard-toting docking system turning the Apple tablet into an ultraportable notebook of sorts.  The ClamCase actually does more than just give you a physical keyboard to type on, though; they're also billing it as a case to protect the iPad and a stand to prop it up for media playback. iPad USB Camera Connection dongle supports keyboards & audio headsets

, Apr 26th 2010 Discuss [0]

Having seen the first in-the-wild shots of Apple's new Camera Connector Kit for the iPad over the weekend, the feedback now seems even more positive.  TUAW have heard that the USB half of the kit, billed solely as a way to plug in your digital camera, will also work with a USB keyboard for wired text entry.  Meanwhile they also point to TidBITS who have been having luck with USB headsets. Microsoft Arc Comes in White Thanks to Amazon

, Apr 13th 2010 Discuss [1]

When we brought up the Microsoft Arc keyboard earlier this year, we questioned whether or not its durability would be a deciding factor to those that wanted to pick it up. With the ability to store the 2.4 GHz wireless dongle while you're on the move, we're of the mind that Microsoft still would like to market this to the traveler, rather than the stay-at-home business owner. Then again, with how comfortable and sexy as this thing looks, we could be wrong. Read The Full Story

ASUS Eee Keyboard gets video promo (now just needs a launch)

, Apr 8th 2010 Discuss [0]

Ah, the ASUS Eee Keyboard.  Delayed so long there was a fair chance humans might have evolved not to have fingers by the time it hits the shelves, we're still unable to actually go out and buy the nettop-in-a-keyboard-with-a-touchscreen but at least we can look at ASUS' latest promo for the device.
