Logitech G930 headset, G700 mouse & G510 keyboard target gamers

Logitech's peripheral department has been busy again, this time pushing out a game-centric trio of keyboard, headset and mouse.  The Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930, Logitech Wireless Gaming Mouse G700 and the Logitech Gaming Keyboard G510 are all of the opinion that more buttons are better, and as such are heavily encrusted. OLPC XO-1.5 HS physical keyboard gets video tested

We're still waiting to see what the OLPC team make of the Marvell Moby tablet reference platform, but until then we'll make do with the promise of dramatically improved text entry abilities on the current model.  The OLPC XO-1.5 HS (where the "HS" stands for "High School") throws out the membrane keyboard and replaces it with a proper 'board, after the Uruguay government decided they wanted to roll out the netbook to their older students. Christoph Derndorger from OLPC News managed to grab some hands-on time with the XO-1.5 HS while he was in Asución, and the feedback is good.  Typing is far easier than with the membrane 'board, though OLPC has used a physical keyboard with an unusual arrow key layout; rather than the traditional T-formation, they're all lined up in a single row. Razer gives up slightly less vague launch date for Tron peripherals

About this time last month, I mentioned that Razer had a very cool Tron Legacy gaming keyboard that it was showing off. At the time the thing surfaced we really didn’t know when the keyboard and other Tron gaming peripherals would be coming to market for geeks to buy. Read The Full Story

Miniguru Keyboard Axed, Not Coming to Retail

, Jul 22nd 2010 Discuss [1]

At the beginning of the year, we showed you a concept for a new keyboard, called the Miniguru. With plenty of features to make typing purists out there happy, we were pretty excited about the possibilities it brought to the table. But, alas, today we are reminded all too well that a concept is just a concept, and they can come to an end all too quickly. Just months after its debut, it looks like the Miniguru keyboard isn't coming. Read The Full Story

Optimus Popularis keyboard slims while key-displays grow

, Jun 24th 2010 Discuss [1]

We've been following Art Lebedev's Popularis keyboard project since the first mutterings late last year, and from the scant details we've seen it looks like the company has certainly learnt its lessons from the original Optimus Maximus.  A new image released today shows the comparative key display sizes of the two 'boards: despite being smaller and slimmer than its predecessor, the Popularis will have better sized-keys with bigger, higher-resolution displays. Razer outs awesome Tron keyboard and mouse chocked full o’ win

As a child of the 80, you can bet I watched Tron enough times to wear out the old VHS. I love that movie and blew more than a few weeks' allowance playing the arcade game at the corner gas station. With the new Tron flick set to launch soon there are all manner of new toys and other items coming to market to rekindle those childhood memories. Read The Full Story

, Jun 22nd 2010 Discuss [0]

No, not an iPad someone accidentally put through a hot wash, you're looking at an iPhone 3GS running iOS4 and seated in the iPad's Keyboard Dock.  Andy Ihnatko slapped his freshly-updated smartphone into the dock to see if it would work, and sure enough it does.  Not only basic text entry, too: the shortcut and media control buttons are all playing nicely. Art Lebedev Studios are slowly dripping out details on their second-generation keyboard, the Optimus Popularis, and they're certainly hitting the keywords we geeks love to hear.  The keyboard - which will have displays for keys - will be thinner, faster and simpler for less money than its Maximus predecessor, though considering that costs around $1,600 "less" is a relative term. , May 28th 2010 Discuss [0]

Remember BYD's Snaptop concept, the Snapdragon-powered tablet with a wireless Bluetooth keyboard hiding in the rear panel?  It looks like someone at Taiji Electronics has been paying attention; they're apparently bringing along their new slate to Computex 2010, a VIA C7 1.2GHz based Windows 7 tablet, and it stores a Bluetooth keyboard in the back section complete with a kick-stand. Lego keyboard stickers for Mac makes you keyboard geeky and comfortable

If you read SlashGear you know we are, suckers for stuff made from Lego building blocks. One of my favorite Lego gadgets was the robot that could solve the Rubik's Cube using a Motorola Droid. I have also seen some geeks take Lego blocks and use them for keys on their keyboard, but that would be uncomfortable. Read The Full Story
