ASUS rolls out MeMo Pad 7 Android tablet for $149

If you're in the market for a cheap Android tablet and the Nexus 7 is a bit too expensive, Asus's MeMoPad 7 hit stores today for the low price of $149. A teaser video of the tablet was released back in February, and while it doesn't offer quite the same level of hardware available on slightly more expensive tablets, it will certainly work fine as an ereader and casual browsing slate, or as a device for the kids to use instead of your more expensive devices.

Investors appear to be cautiously optimistic about the announcements made today regarding Facebook and their new Android smartphone-based software experience. Stocks have jumped over 3% after the Facebook "New Home on Android" event, this allowing the stock to hit $27 and above for the first time in half a month.
