iPhone 5S Gunmetal parts appear in Japanese repair shop

Though it's not quite as likely that we'd find official Apple-made hardware leaked to a Japan-based parts replacement store as it would one in China, today's appearance of a Gunmetal-colored iPhone 5S SIM-tray is intriguing all the same. What we're seeing here is a series of comparison shots of this Gunmetal color (not black, but darker than the white iPhone 5) near the iPhone 5's two color iterations. This would be the fourth color iPhone 5S tray to have appeared in the past month.

Earlier this year it was claimed by several news sources, then quoted again just this month by Google, that the Nexus 7 outsold the iPad in Japan in the fourth quarter of 2012. This assertion comes from a report by market research firm BCN, as quoted by Nikkei and re-published by several publications since early this year. Here after Google repeated the claim at their Nexus 7 reboot event, a bit more information on BCN's study has come to light - as have some rather contradictory numbers from research firm IDC.

Japan says Boeing 787s can resume flight after modifications

Back in January, Boeing's 787 Dreamliner jets were grounded by the FAA after experiencing issues with batteries overheating, which posed a fire risk. It took a couple months, but last week the FAA approved Boeing's new battery design, and yesterday it lifted the ban it had in place. Now Japan has given the go-ahead for resuming flights after the modications and changes needed are made.

The goal of the launch was to strengthen the surveillance capability of Japan and allow the country to keep an eye on North Korea. Tensions between Japan and North Korea are high after North Korea promised to conduct another nuclear test.
