The few of you out there with Apple Watches and SmartThings devices can rejoice - all will work together peacefully by this afternoon. Apple Watch used to share baby’s heartbeat

Apple Watch used to share baby’s heartbeat

The Apple Watch has been used to share heartbeats from user to user before, but before today, it's never been used on a baby. Today's shared experience comes from a family that wanted to share their baby's first moments in the world with their family. They did so with the Apple Watch. Using this Apple product's ability to send a vibration to another wearer each time a heart beats, this baby's life was sent through the Apple Watch, through the iPhone, and through the web.

Why I do not plan on buying an Apple Watch

Why I do not plan on buying an Apple Watch

I don't own an iPhone. I really could end this train of thought with that, but here's what's more: study after study has shown that most people planning on purchasing an Apple Watch also have an iPhone. Many of those people also wear a watch on a regular basis. Apple is in a pretty good position to displace the watches on the wrists of iPhone users over the next few weeks, as it were. But for me - there're really no way I'd end up with an Apple Watch on my wrist.

Why I’m Breaking Down and Buying an Apple Watch

Why I’m Breaking Down and Buying an Apple Watch

I’ve gone back and forth over the last several weeks trying to decide whether an Apple Watch was for me. After all, I’m not so sure that wearables really are the next big thing like so many others argue and I’m convinced that they need to change dramatically in order to provide a real competition to traditional watches.

Google’s Android Wear update nails skeptics’ flaw in Apple Watch plan

Today Google has released a number of feature updates for Android Wear, and in turn, has uncovered a key flaw not only in the Apple Watch, but in ever smartwatch released so far. In the smartwatch, the market has created demand for a product that precedes its own usefulness. In the release, creation, and proliferation of the smartwatch, manufacturers are attempting to recapture the magical torch set alight by smartphones, attempting to make lightning strike again with a "smart" upgrade to a "dumb" device.

Goldman forecasts Apple Watch domination

Goldman forecasts Apple Watch domination

Goldman analyst Lindsay Drucker Mann and her team of analysts have conducted a survey of 1,000 US consumers over the two days after Apple opened preorders for the Apple Watch. In their study, they found that while most respondents didn't plan on purchasing any smartwatch at all in the future, 11% of all iPhone users suggested it was "very likely" that they'd be buying an Apple Watch. Because of this, Goldman forecasts 13.5 million Apple Watch units will be sold inside the year 2015.

Conan previews Apple Pocketwatch for comedic effect

After introducing the Apple iPhone and the Apple Watch, Conan O'Brien's comedy staff suggests that the next big step is the Apple Pocketwatch. This fabulous piece of equipment will act as the pocket-bound time-keeper you need in all the right places. It's thin enough to fit in an envelope, too, as the video will show.
