The Alienware M11x will soon reach end of life, and although it was an interesting idea to try and pack as much power into a small footprint as possible, ultimately it didn’t gain much traction. ASUS Zenbook Primes will offer 1080p IPS and Ivy Bridge

It was only last month that details leaked out of ASUS’ new Zenbooks, sporting Ivy Bridge processors as well as 1080p IPS screen options. The cat is seemingly out of the bag, as Engadget Chinese has managed to hunt down the new models. ASUS’ name for the new models is the Zenbook Prime (sound familiar?), and will include the 11.6.-inch UX21A and 13.3-inch UX31A. Read The Full Story

HP adds Intel’s Ivy Bridge to six desktops

The last two days have seen a positive rain of new systems using Intel's third generation of Core processors, including an update to HP's well-received Omni 27. They just announced another five models getting the Ivy Bridge update: the 21-inch Omni 220qd and Touchsmart 520xt all-in-ones, the Pavilion HPE h8t and h8xt desktops and the top-of-the-line HPE H9t Phoenix. The Phoenix will be hitting online and brick-and-mortar retailers on April 29th, but the rest of the models including the new Omni 27qd will have to wait until June 24th for retail. HP Omni 27 coming with Ivy Bridge option

If you're a fan of the all-in-one design and aren't up for Lenovo's unconventional A720, then there's good news: HP's mid-range, big-screen Omni 27 will soon get an Ivy Bridge option. The third-generation Intel Core processors will be offered with new Omni 27 units soon. Though HP's website is still showing the older processors, Intel's Ivy Bridge showcase names the model. Intel integrated HD Graphics 4000 doubles gaming power

A slew of new Ivy Bridge processors isn't the only thing Intel is announcing today. Slipped into the announcement of its third-generation Core architecture was the mention of the HD 4000 series of integrated graphics cards, which will replace the standard graphics currently on a huge assortment of laptops and desktops. According to Intel, the new integrated graphics chips will deliver up to double performance from the 3000 series, an impressive claim and a necessary advancement as Ultrabooks (most of which use Intel's HD graphics) become a more popular PC segment.
