iTunes Store adds option to postpone downloads

Apple has just added a new download option to the iTunes Store that will allow users to buy content and download the content later. The option is available for users who have iTunes 11 installed on their computers, or users who are running iOS 6 on their iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices. The option is only available when you purchase TV episodes, movies, TV seasons, season passes, movie bundles, or music box sets.

Amazon blocks Apple in Goodreads purchase

Today it's become apparent that Amazon's recent purchase of the social networking website Goodreads has blocked another heavy hitter from teaming up. The report comes from a source who says none other than Apple was about to sign a deal with Goodreads for book recommendations with their iBooks program through Goodreads when Amazon showed up with a large sum of cash. This breakup is said to have knocked out a deal that was in the works for over a year.

The same sources say that Warner Music an Apple are very close to securing a deal as well.

It's hard to believe that Apple's incredibly popular iTunes Store has been around for 10 years as of next month. When Apple first launched iTunes, the technology company announced that it wanted to run the store at breakeven. During the early days of digital content when people weren't used to purchasing music and other items as digital files, running at a breakeven was an understandable goal.
