The iPhone 5 has only been available for a few days, but some iOS developers have wasted no time in pushing updates for their apps. Of course, all iOS apps are compatible with the iPhone 5, but some developers are releasing updates so their apps can take advantage of the extra screen space. Some of these developers delivered their updates on Friday, the day the iPhone 5 was released, while a steady stream of iOS devs have been launching updates throughout the weekend and into this week. iPad mini and wifi iPods head for October iTunes event

This afternoon it would appear that not only has the name "iPad mini" been tipped once again, a couple new iPods have been updated as well. According to Asian sources speaking with Macotakara, the new iPad will have a 7.85-inch display and will indeed be called the "iPad mini." A couple new iPods will be popping up at the same event as this iPad mini, each of them with the ability to connect to wireless internet so that they might connect with iTunes in the Cloud. Today Google has been so kind as bump up their official Google+ app for iPhone (and iPad) that’ll allow people around the world to explore the social network with great ease. This version of Google+ is made for iPhone, but is perfectly suited for the iPad‘s larger display as well. Graphics come through sharp and well-tuned for the most part, with only a few bits and pieces left for a future version to clean up – gray borders around small images, and other such small matters.

The iPhone will soon be getting a much easier way to keep track of all of your mobile-based passes, be then movie passes, airplane tickets, or Apple store receipts, with an app called Passbook. This application will work with brands such as Target, Major League Baseball, United Airlines, Amtrak, Starbucks, and Fandango for movie tickets right out of the box. Power Nap Apple app revealed at WWDC 2012
