iriver Story HD browser hack discovered

It was a disappointing week for Apple fans eager to pick up a new MacBook Air and OS X Lion, as both were no-shows with a launch looking to be next Thursday or Friday instead. The much anticipated Spotify music streaming service did open its doors to the US finally, although by invite-only. iRiver Story HD Review
The iRiver Story HD is touted as the very first e-reader to have Google eBookstore integration. The original iRiver Story has been called an Amazon Kindle clone, but this new model affixed with “HD” to its name now sports a higher XGA (1024×768) resolution display and some unusual design tweaks. iRiver Story HD is first eReader with Google eBooks integrated
We have talked a lot about iRiver around here; the company has all sorts of gadgets and electronics. The last product from iRiver I mentioned was the cool P8 PMP last week that was heading to Russia first. Google has announced that iRiver will have the first eReader that has official Google eBooks integration onboard. The eReader is called the iRiver Story HD and will launch on July 17.

iRiver P8 PMP breaks cover with slick interface and more
iRiver has been around for a long time making some interesting PMPs and other devices for music and video fans to take with them wherever they go. One of the last items that we talked about from iRiver was the small T9 MP3 player back in May. The new product that has surfaced from iRiver is much more interesting than the low-end T9. The P8 has a big 5-inch touchscreen and a very slick interface with widgets and more that looks like it came from Cupertino.

A new digital audio player from iRiver has surfaced called the U100 and it looks pretty cool. The player is set to land in Korea later in 2011 and more players from the company will be coming. The U100 has a 3.1-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 480.

iriver's Cover Story (aka the iriver Story Touch Edition) has a tough slog ahead of it. On the plus side there's the resistive touchscreen over the 6-inch E Ink display, all in a relatively compact body that our hands-on at IFA 2010 found to be pleasantly thin and light; on the downside, it's set to cost more than €200 ($258) when it arrives in Europe and Asia, a fair chunk more than a Kindle yet lacking either 3G or WiFi connectivity.

iriver Story Touch Edition dumps QWERTY for touchscreen
iriver's original Story ereader actually managed to make it out of Korea and to the western markets, which is why our ears are perking up at the talk of its successor. According to the Chinese iriverFans forum, the iriver Story Touch Edition will ditch the first model's hardware QWERTY keyboard and replace it with a touchscreen layer for the 6-inch E Ink display.
