, Oct 11th 2012 Discuss [0]

It didn't seem like quite an official release day for the new iPod Touch, but yesterday was the day users started to receive their units in the mail. We even got our hands on one as well, but iFixit ended up gutting the device to see what was on the inside. They didn't find too many surprises, but they noted that the device's repairability was unsurprisingly lacking. Read The Full Story

Parrot Zikmu Solo keeps the gigantic mobile accessory trend hot

, Oct 5th 2012 Discuss [0]

With speaker docks getting as giant as a coffin this year for devices galore, it's no wonder that accessories like the Parrot Zikmu Solo are as living room-worthy as they are. What we've got with the Zikmu Solo is a tower-like speaker that works either wirelessly or connected to your iOS device - or any speaker-cord-capable device with 100W of power under its hood. This device works with stereo output, a single unit speaker, and three loudspeakers on the upper part - as described here in detail, of course. Read The Full Story

, Oct 5th 2012 Discuss [0]

During the iPhone 5 launch a couple weeks ago, Apple announced an update to its iPod Touch lineup that would include the same 4-inch screen as the iPhone 5. However, we were only given an "October" release date, so we weren't sure if we'd see them at the beginning of the month or more towards the end. iNUKE BOOM Junior shrinks the iPhone speaker beast

, Oct 4th 2012 Discuss [0]

Right at the end of last year the iNUKE BOOM was announced by behringer as the most ridiculously gigantic iPhone dock ever created - now the group has a much more reasonably sized companion. Instead of working with an 8 x 4 x 4-foot coffin of a speaker, one that cost $30k, you've got 8.7 x 16.5 x 9.8-inches of bulk at a much more reasonable $179.99. This device works with 2 x 1-inch tweeters, 2 x 3-inch midrange speakers, 1 x 5.25-inch woofer, and 10.6 pounds of weight - even if it is smaller, its still no pipsqueak! Read The Full Story

5th-gen iPod touch Hands-on

In its fifth generation, the iPod touch gets even closer to the iPhone, while still carving out its own multimedia niche. Borrowing the new 4-inch Retina display but slotting it into a mere 88g, 6.1mm thick chassis, it’s clear that doing away with the cellular radio has (among other disparities) made for an altogether more comprehensive and capable device. Certainly not one to fall into the iPhone 5′s shadow; read on for our first impressions!

, Sep 12th 2012 Discuss [0]

This week Apple showed off a brand new dock connector for their iPhone 5, and likely for the rest of their mobile line eventually, called Lightning. This cord uses an "all-digital 8-signal design" with an adaptive interface - works with either side up - and is 80 percent smaller than the previous iPod dock solution. This little beast has "improved durability" over the previous cords Apple has worked with and Apple has shown off an Adapter as well - the adapter here will allow you to work with the old 30-pin dock connector too if you've got those kinds of accessories.
