Jailbreak Con 2012 revealed with iOS hacks aplenty
This year is the second year that the hacking community for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches has been so large that they needed a convention of their own to hold them all - Jailbreak Con 2012. The first version of this event was called MyGreatFest and took place in London - this year's event is completely rebranded and will be popping up all the way over in San Francisco, California here in the USA. This event will contain not only keynote speakers and round-table discussions with developers from all walks of iOS life, it'll have vendors and media representation too - the real deal!

iOS photo access glitch fix incoming tip sources
The iOS loophole allowing developers to suck all of the photos stored on an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with rogue applications to a remote server is set to be closed by the next iOS release, sources claim. The functionality is supposedly unintentional on Apple's part, insiders familiar with the situation told The Verge, but the Cupertino company has been informed of the flaw and is working on a fix.

The folks at Apple have announced the soon to be hit 25 billion downloads mark from the iTunes App Store – that is, all apps downloaded for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. These apps number in the millions, and now the downloads of these apps have nearly reached the 25th billion – that’s no tiny mile mark. When the 25 billionth download is hit, the person to grab that final download is said to be eligible to win a $10,000 App Store Gift Card – you could download the whole darn place with that kind of cash!

Today in an interview / keynote speech with investors at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference 2012, Tim Cook answered many questions on Apple, including on his position in the company. What Cook has done and will do in the very near future was spoken about and explained in short, Cook coming across very much as the man who’s not only in charge of Apple, but in love with its culture as well. Cook would not, as it said “permit the slow undoing of it” simply because that wasn’t a possibility because Apple is a company he believes in so deeply.

Temple Run for Android postponed, still coming this month
The game that's still got iOS fans having heart attacks over how awesome it is, Temple Run, was originally scheduled to be dropped for Android today, but its developers have let us know that a bit of postponing is in order. Though we and the developers at Image Studios are hoping to get in on the game for a full release by the end of the month, it's likely not going to happen this week. Those of you on the iPhone version of this game can continue swinging in glee as your Android compatriots wait for some awesome temple running pleasure for just a few more days or weeks or forever more.

Steam Mobile now open to all, Beta testing complete
Last week we let you in on a few bits of functionality that sat inside the mobile version of the gaming giant Steam - this week the beta period for testing of that app is done and everyone is allowed to join at will. This application may have mobile-based games in the future, but for now acts as a companion application for the browser-based interface for PC and Mac computers. You are able to purchase items for future playing from this mobile application, and community engagement is currently the biggest selling point for Steam fans.
